Great place for short walk

It is worth to see but you need to organize it earlier to be able to go to the top of volcano. You need to have permission.

two days hiking on the ashes slopes of Pico Viejo up to the cable car and than down to Refugio AltaVista for the overnight rest. Next day from cottage up to the summit, elevation 3.719 meters, for the sunrise and than slowly back to the start point. Difficult hike, 19 kilometers in one side with 2.300 height meters of elevation/drop.... More

This really is a must do if you visit Tenerife we visited with 2 children age 9 and 10 and even they were impressed. The place is like being on another world fantastic views and awsome sights. This I feel is all let down by the inadequate cable car facilities we were lucky enough to pre book fast track tickets and I... Mount Teide is officially Spain's highest mountain standing over 3000 meters., for any body who enjoys trips to mountainous areas this is a must, there are plenty of tour bus excursions that take you up to the volcanic plateau, this in itself is fairly spectacular evident remains of volcanic eruptions and lava flows splatter the area, several walks can be... Many have spoen of mighty nature. It is defenetly a must see in Tenerife. A few tips though: 1. It is terrible cold and windy up there (I was at noon in august on a beautiful day, and still it was FREEZING! 2. This is a difficult drive of approximately an hour. You should consider going by bus... 3. If... More

This is well worth the drive. The climb to the top has some of the most amazing views and will take quite a while to get there if you stop at all the photo spots. Be careful where you park though as some people have no problem block in you in and going off for an hour leaving you stranded.... More

Went on the bus trip tour up to Mount Teide. The guide reads out the history of all the Canary Islands and about their volcanic activity which was very interesting. The bus stops half way up to get out and explore the lava fields for 30minutes and then continues on to the base of the volcano. Here you buy the... More

Came here with the father in law and a friend's as they visited us on holiday so was my first time up there also. Very nice and cold but unbelievable and unimaginable scenery. Great visit. And I live here so I will be there again.

Very interesting if you get a good guide, the only downside is this ,we went on two trips and didn't manage to get on the cable cars to the top of the mountain as it was to windy ,so main point of the trip was missed.

We booked this excursion through Tui rep in our hotel. We got picked up at half 3 by the coach, it took us around an hour to collect everyone from other hotel before eventually making our way to the volcano! I will warn you if you do get car sickness make sure you either take sickness tablets or don't go!... More
