    Great place to be
This was an incredible trip. We bought gondela tickets only and explored the trails. The gondelas were clean with a great view. The cafeteria was clean and Not overpriced. Gift shop was reasonable too. Bathrooms spotless and every worker we met was friendly and helpful. The view from the top is pretty amazing and the hiking trails are well marked. I will go again in the future to see other trails.

    Wow!!!
We have wanted to go up Tiede for a while now, but thought our son might be too young to appreciate it. During our last trip to Tenerife, in August, the volcano was not accessible due to the forest fires. Anyway, this time, in October, the conditions were perfect. We booked our trip through 'TENERIFE FIRST EXCURSIONS' for a total of €200.00 for 2 adults and 1 child. The coach was on time, and the guide spoke good English. The coach makes a number of stops on the way up, for refreshments and photo opertunities. Included in the price of the trip is the cable car to the top of the volcano. (refundable if close due to weather conditions) once at the top, you get an hour to walk around and toke in the breathtaking views. The return coach journey has a couple more stops, and then drops you at your pick up point. We had a great day out, worth every penny! We are back next August with friends, and have already recommended that we do the same trip.

    Must see in Tenerife
It was an amazing experience. It's a must see if you are in Tenerife. The road to the volcano is breathtaking. The view is amazing from the top. We used the cable car to go up and down, we purchased the tickets online. Bring warm clothes with you as it's only about 10C in the mountain. The last cable car descends at 16:50. You need a special permit to go to the very top of the volcano. We couldn't get one even when trying a month before our arrival.

Take the scenic route TF21 across the volcano and rent a car when its not sunny enough
It was cloudy so we decided to rent a car for 2 days. We managed to drive from one side to the other side of the volcano on the TF21 and it was a beautiful drive. We did not visit the park itself and is also not necessary. Just drive through it to be amazed. Its a 80km drive if not mistaken.

    Amazing must see
It's a must-see 10 out of 10 Amazing Excellent Clean Just enjoy and take it all in. If driving again, take your time and enjoy if the car behind wants to race on. Just slow down and let the race themselves down the hill on the way home. Can't fault this place is unreal like a movie set.

    Volcanic experience
As volcanos go, Teide is up there as one of the most interesting. Last erupting in 1904, nobody has lost their lives as a result of an eruption. The volcanic landscape is truly lunar with massive rocks of iron and pumice as well as eroded lava fields and vast reaches of fine pumice, a must to walk on. There is a lot of plant life and also little lizards. An excellent visitors centre and a cable car to the rim - has to be booked well in advance.

    Perfect wild nature views!
Perfect place to spend a day into a wild nature, we were in Teide park by car. Lovely views and amazing road where you can see all the time changing pictures of Tenerife island from a different perspective! Highly recommend

Beautiful area to explore and walk.
Had a great trip to Mount Teide on an organised coach tour. The only problem was that the bus called at lots of hotels so it took absolutely ages to get back. The bus commentary was excellent. Our guide was charming and so knowledgeable. Mount Teide has excellent walks and a nice restaurant.

    Stunning views of a volcano
Although we didn't get to go up in the cable car due to high winds one day and queues of traffic and people waiting to get tickets on another, we passed the area several times on our trips around the island. It is the dominant feature of the island :from the plane as you come into land and from almost every view point on the island. On a cloudless day against the blue sky it is stunning , and the volcanic landscape is equally impressive. So many different rock formations, and a variety of landscapes from lave fields to forests. One thing to note the area around it is very very busy even in February. Everywhere you go are coaches, quads bikes, cyclists , mini buses and safaris. Often many of the parking places are full and people park all over the road , and be careful for people lying on the road trying to get the perfect instragram shot. Even worse in the evening as everyone tries to get the prime spot to watch the sunset or climb the hills to view the stars. Top tip is get up early , and you will have the place to yourself

Volcano, park itself and hikes there are beautiful, but agency organizing trips (Volcano Teide experience) is horrible and I recommend to avoid it and do the trip on your own. This Is my feedback for them:
Firstly I was unable to order thé trip at all on your website. I tried to contact support but I was given totally horrible answer, totaly unuseful. So I booked trip in another time an another type of the service And it somehow worked(?!?!). The day of the trip we were told that cabine doesnt work because of thé Wind, which would be ok if we wouldnt be rufunded only 38% of the paid price!! So we threw 88 EUR in to the toilet! We wanted to go to Teide no to have some alternative hike, which we didnt use at all and we went to Teide by ourselves. Because originally we wanted to book permission to Teide but one month in advance it was totally fully booked, so only legal way was to buy trip from you. This is shame and touristic rip off!

we are too late to book the trip in hotel, so we book a car and cable car in hotel instead, it seems cheaper for 3 of us because car only £30/day, but make sure you have enough time to drive there, the cable car set the time slot and long way to drive up and around the mountain, we see a lot of car rush and try to pass car to meet their time slot. Unfortunately, we found out cable car not running when we reach there because windy, lucky they can refund. They will email you if cable car not running in the morning. It still worth up there even without cable car, there is modern coffee shop with good view and little shop also. When we drive down, there are a lot of stop and viewing point, some even can walk around.

We went on this tour with Jet2holidays, because it was an English speaking tour and we had booked our holiday through them.
The tour guide was very knowledgable, and we made at least 6+ stops to take pictures and talk about the area.
We had hoped to go up in the cable car, but it was too windy, so our money was refunded for that portion of the trip.
It was a 6 hour trip, plenty of bathroom breaks and places where you could have a snack. No food provided with this tour.

I love the area around Teide for photography. What I'd not done before was astrophotography. I'm so glad I took the chance.
I visited in Jan so the core of milky way wasn't visable but i still managed to get some great shots.

I went to a car park just beyond the cable car to the summit, That id already vetted during daylight.

Even if you don't want to take photos you will see a totally different night sky to the one you see at home (unless you live in a international dark zone) . I suspect once the core rises in April the view is even more amazing. Likewise during a meteor shower I suspect you get a great view.

Remember the air is a lot thinner at 2400 metres I suspect heavy smokers or those with breathing conditions may need to slow down. You will also notice a drop in power of your car as you climb and there is less oxygen available for effective combustion.

So now the one negative that didn't bother me in the slightest but i could see affecting a lot of people.
The temperature.

I went mid Jan, the temp during the day in los gigantes was about 22, during the day on Teide it was about 17 (so approx 5 less).
However at night it's a bigger difference and temp is VERY localised. The night I went up it was 18 degrees when i left at 1930. When I got to my destination an hour later it was about 5 degrees, but I'd travelled though little areas as low as zero .

I only stayed 90 mins and on the way back the car registered temperatures between -4 and 3 degrees, being 14 when back at hotel approx 2320. So pick your spot and wrap up warm.

Tickets are only sold online although there is no internet at Teide, yet many employees who could have sold them or inform us that the hiking track is actually closed. We had to drive back to a roadside cafe to buy tickets for 37 eur/person so we could drive in an over crowded cable car and end up in a closed over crowded balcony. The amount of money that is charged for this service should not be legal and we feel like it is a tourist scam.

We booked tickets for the following day but received notice that it wasn't going to run due to strong winds. we rebooked a few days later and drove to the cable car station. We managed to park up the road only a few minutes walk away. We were met by our guide and once the group was together the guide took us straight through onto the loading platform. At the top we regrouped and the guide walked us around a path explaining in detail what we were seeing. It was considerably colder but fresh air. There was loads of loose stones from eruptions, snow in places, steam vents with yellow sulphur sublimed where the moisture has escaped. The views were great almost like a lunar landscape. A geography lesson in one hit. The walk was quite easy but you have to wear good fitting shoes, my white trainers are no longer white from the volcanic dust. After the tour we thanked our guide and went to the station to get the cable car back down.

We took a coach up with the intention of taking the cable car to the summit (that was closed for safety), The journey up & back is interesting & certainly fascinating as well as challenging going through the cloud base in both directions. How the coach maneuvers the turns is tantamount to a miracle there are not more accidents.
The parking area however & surrounding areas are well worth the trip with its remarkable scenery, above the clouds. So many variations in plateau's & rock formations, a fantastic place for mindfulness, just sit on a rock & watch nature in its rawest form. Hotel /Cafe is a rip off & you pay to use the only facilities available (free if you buy an over priced item in the shop!).
We didn't have the opportunity but there are sunset tours which I would in hindsight have taken to see such a clear sky at night must be stunning, something to think about.
Well worth the trip.

We cannot visit the lava fields enough. The landscape is beautiful and the trekking incredible. The range of colours and textures in the lava is stunning.

The only negative is that the park is closed about three times a year to allow hunting of the mouflon to hunters who pay to kill these animals.

We always make a trip to El Teide in each holiday. We drive ourselves there so we can take our own time. Parking can be difficult near the Parador.
The food offerings in the cafe have improved and there several good short and longer walks well waymarked.
The scenery is utterly different from anything else (except parts of Lanzarote) although the majesty of El Teide is unique. Be prepared for a cooler feel on some days and we have been driving through snow on some trips. Global warming seems to have put an end to that!!

Dec 2018: Took the cable car up and walked down. I am no mountain goat; it took 5 hours. Definitely need good walking shoes, in sections it is steep, rocky, scree and slippy. I would recommend a walking pole to help with balance. It is sometimes easy to lose the path (if you do, stop and take a look around). There was no snow or ice and in sheltered parts it was very hot (take lots of sunscreen and water and lip balm!). The part from the refuge down is steep then it really levels out. The views are incredible!!
Jan 2020 walked up, took the cable car back down. To do this you do not need to book a time for the cable car but carefully check the weather as the cable car could be closed due to wind, and then only option is walk down again.
Walking up is easier! The initial gradual incline is a good introduction. No pole needed (would hinder you on the steep bits). To go up took me 3hrs 30. In the shady sides some parts of the path were icy and snowy so good gripping shoes are essential (definitely not trainers!) and lots of sunscreen and lip balm (the wind was strong and biting in some parts). On this occasion when we got to the top it turned out that they had closed this path due to ice and the ranger at the top was not pleased with us, however there were no signs further down and plenty of people had headed up before us and were behind us.
I would rate this walk as moderate: take plenty of time and be aware of the altitude. On the way up we passed a sign saying it was another 4 hours to the top: - however from this sign it took me 2 hours 45 mins at a slow to steady pace (plenty of people were passing me).
If you can climb Snowdon then you can do this: Set off with plenty of time to get to the cable car if you are walking up and be prepared for it to be closed (so plenty of time to walk back again - as the reviews of the refuge are that you will be turned away if you have not booked beforehand even if it is late).
