The best thing is to do the climb at dawn, start at the Montaña Blanca parking lot, reach the top before 7 and see the magnificent spectacle of sunrise over the clouds. Keep in mind that it is not an easy trail, it is around 9 km but with sections of significant inclination and irregular terrain. You should bring food and warm clothing for the summit.

As volcanos go, Teide is up there as one of the most interesting. Last erupting in 1904, nobody has lost their lives as a result of an eruption. The volcanic landscape is truly lunar with massive rocks of iron and pumice as well as eroded lava fields and vast reaches of fine pumice, a must to walk on. There is a lot of plant life and also little lizards. An excellent visitors centre and a cable car to the rim - has to be booked well in advance.

Very early this morning, we climbed well covered to high altitude via the volcano cable car. For me, it was a bit complicated to walk 50 minutes up there. Breathing due to the decrease in atmospheric pressure can lead to altitude sickness, and for me, as for others, it was complicated on route 11 that we had chosen. High heart rate and heavy legs. Otherwise, once we came back down, we changed quickly because we were lucky enough to have superb weather again today. Teide is a 3,715 m stratovolcano and is the highest point in Spain. It is the highest peak in the Atlantic Ocean and the third highest volcanic structure in the world if measured from the seabed (source Wikipedia). We found it very very impressive, and the whole volcano area is magnificent 🤩 When you're there, it's something different than seeing it on a magazine or on a screen.

Stunning climb to the top, tiring but of great joy when you reach 3715. Too bad that a permit is needed for those who go up on foot, a shame. I can understand those who go up by cable car (they reach 3555 metres), but in the spirit of the mountains, those who climb 1300 m in altitude should also be able to access the top. Very well maintained and clean path, excellent!!!

Even if some people think it is "just" a mountain, I cannot share that opinion. Yes, it is one of the few volcanoes that you can visit. And yes, this unique landscape is something special. I really enjoyed the trip and was fascinated by this wonderful landscape, which reminds me of Monument Valley. I definitely recommend a visit!

Perfect place to spend a day into a wild nature, we were in Teide park by car. Lovely views and amazing road where you can see all the time changing pictures of Tenerife island from a different perspective! Highly recommend

Magnificent visit, you will be amazed in the middle of this lunar landscape. We had planned to take the cable car but unfortunately it remained closed due to the wind that day. We decided to come anyway and we were not disappointed because there are many beautiful views even without going to the top.

Mount Teide, in Tenerife, is a national park and World Heritage Site. Although it is beautiful, it is also fragile. An irresponsible tourist pitched his tent in a protected area, cycled on unauthorized paths and turned on camping gas to cook. This damages the ecosystem. The authorities must take stricter measures, such as fines and guards. They should also charge entrance fees to non-residents to protect it. Our natural spaces deserve respect! 🌿 🏞️

Impressive natural place. Already a beautiful view of the plateau but just Wow when arriving above the funicular. 40€/person which is worth it. Breathtaking landscapes, walks among lava rocks. Be careful, high altitude, so dress warmly because it's cool up there. When we were there it was 22° below

We came for the second time. We went two years ago and didn’t get to the volcano because of my carelessness - I didn’t Google that you need to book tickets through the Internet in advance. This time we arrived with tickets, but we were unlucky again - the cable car was closed due to weather conditions, there was a strong wind. According to the forecast, they promised 7-8 m/s and I thought that this was normal and we would be able to go up and then go down on foot, but when after the bummer we went for a walk on the next hill, it was so windy at the top that I was even glad that the volcano itself did not rise. It was no longer possible to change tickets for another date, so we made a refund and definitely planned to come again. There are many hiking trails of varying lengths and difficulty levels around the volcano. The landscapes are lunar, volcanic, stones, sand, cacti and plants; of course, they cannot be compared with Austria, but there is something to see. I can’t write anything about the list on foot from the volcano yet, but I’ll add it when I come next time.
