It is unbelievable to go to Tenerife and not visiting El Teide..our father - as we called it. Better to go in spring when the retamas have flowers and the Tajinastes with their red colors - unique like being or traveling to the moon !!!!!!

We visited here on a tour which started early. The drive there was interesting and there was a stop for photos en route. Although we were fairly early arriving, 9.15am, there was a wait for the cable car. The numbers are regulated so it isn't too squashed inside. The views at the top are amazing and well worth the early... More

Went for a day out with a tour to view the Volcan and surrounding areas including multiple villages that were truely beautiful, the contracst between beach and inland was beautiful. Great island and would honestly recommend it.

We took the cable car to the top and it was fantastic. We then did one of the pathway walks. Tips 1. Book your ticket in advance or you have to queue to buy a ticket and then queue for the cable car with your ticket. The pre-booked people get priority in a separate line. 2. Get there early; when... Get there early! Very popular. Maybe not the place for kids since "it's just a mountain". Great nature experience!!!!

It's well worth a trip up the cable car to the top, the view is pretty spectacular. We booked our tickets online for Saturday (a quiet day according to the website) and arrived with a bit of time to spare, parking is limited and some people have to walk quite a bit after dumping their cars at the side of... I can only guess that if you get here early you will find parking. I have been before many years ago, but the parking is sadly the only complaint. In an area of natural beauty I can understand the need to avoid development but there is inadequate parking facilities and this means less income to maintain the area. Worth a... More

I drove to the volcano from our hotel in Puerto de la Cruz. Absolutely stunning views all the way up. There are places where you can stop on the way up to take amazing shots. It was like being above the clouds. The children absolutely loved the experience. We didn't use the cable cars. We stopped there to admire the... More

We were excited to visit Spain's highest mountain. We were collected at 8am and finally arrived at the cable car( 27 euros) at 12 45 to queue. When we reached the top, it was sooo busy. We were instructed to start queuing to descend at 2pm. So one hour free time. The bus was hot and air conditioning did not work.... More

There is no denying this gives you a beautiful, unrivalled view of the island. That said you do queue for about 45 minutes to take the cable car up. This lasts 5-10 minutes and there is no seating and you are really squashed in. The view from the top is amazing but be warned it is cold. The queue to... More
