Not much to see in Arrecife, so this church is worth a look in.

There’s not much to see in Arrecife, so why not visit this church. It is based in the old town near lots of eateries and near the Charcoal.

The church is small but very beautiful and peaceful.
Its in a small square tucked away behind the main shopping street.

A nice church, if you're around.

Not a large church, but still - there's a lot of history to it, and it is interesting to look at the very old church (rebuilt more than 500 years ago, and was added more and more parts during the years).

Lovely Church in City Centre of Arrecife
Jun 2019 • Couples
Situated in the attractive and picturesque Plaza de Las Palmas is the Church of Saint Genesius (Iglesia de San Ginés), boasting an impressive Square Tower with a gleaming white Cupola which dominate the Square and the Old Town.

Originally a 1574 Hermitage, it became the Parish Church in 1798 and was dedicated to San Ginés, Arrecife’s Patron Saint.

Built in an attractive combination of dark Volcanic Stone and Whitewash, this Triple-naved Church features a dark Wooden Ceiling as well as Late-Baroque Statues of San Ginés and the Virgen del Rosario.
Located behind the Font is a Symbolic Modern Painting by Alberto Manrique, depicting the Fountain of Life.

The Church of Saint Genesius is well worth a Visit!

Little gem near the market

Dark and peaceful sanctuary amid the tourist bustle outside, this is worth a pause to visit and find peace. My Spanish good enough to follow the Service.
Many Spaniards here outside the main tourist weeks.

So worth visiting
Mar 2019 • Couples
The principle church on the island, with its age disguised by successive restoration ( but looks rather special on it). It is beautifully maintained, lovingly clean and welcoming – although I can see the necessity for them , I really dislike the “electric” candles.

The condition of this church reflects and is a statements of civic religious pride with the beautiful “stations of the cross, statues and even the pews. So worth visiting.
