Our Mission is to share our passion and love of sailing in a safe, professional and fun environment. We are a SailTraining Centre based in Marina Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. We offer Atlantic Sailing specialized training. We take our training seriously and aim to give our students the best tuition standards available in the Canary Islands and beyond. We understand that we are all unique individuals, and we personalize our training to suit each person. We aim to help you reach your potential and sailing ambitions, while maintaining a happy and positive learning environment. Your instructor will act as your coach and will empower you to apply the skills you learn. We are international, speak many languages and understand cultural diversity. We are professionals, we respect our clients and believe in quality service.

I've booked a mile building with Atlantic Sailing in 2016 and after two weeks sailing with Fadwa and Richard towards the Azores Islands I had no doubt they were the right school to guide me through the RYA Yachtmaster slow track program.
Outside Arrecife marina, the newest marina in Canary Islands, you can find the best training ground to improve your sailing skill whether you a beginner or a expert sailor, Richard will have the right challenge for you.

We learnt to sail with Richard and Fadwa last year . We then improved our skills by taking day skipper and coastal skipper exams with Atlantic sailing too . We have now just chartered our own yacht in Greece ! Watching supposedly “experienced” sailors trying to moor and breaking all of Richard’s rules has shown us we trained with the best . We have had people tell us we did an excellent job of mooring and anchoring and being honestly gobsmacked that we have only been sailing a year ! Every time we have this we say “ we learnt from the best “ we could only recommend Atlantic sailing If you want to learn to sail . BTW we are both just 60 and had never sailed a day in our lives ! Never too old to learn !

Richard and Fadwa are a perfect team to learn to sail with. For a couple like us with little prior experience, a week with Atlantic Sailing can massively increase your capability and confidence. We could not have been more pleased. Both Richard and Fadwa exude enthusiasm for sailing and put a lot of effort into tailoring the training to the needs of individual clients. We were fortunate to have the benefit of Richard and Fadwa on board during the day. Carol and I got one-to one tuition during the day and then in the evenings we had the boat to ourselves in different marinas around the beautiful Lanzarote coast. We had a lovely mix of sailing and enjoying the Island. We will go back for the next level of training before we consider making a significant ocean passage.

My girlfriend and I were aiming to get our day skipper licenses. After much research on different locations and schools we booked a two week combined competent crew and day skipper course with Atlantic Sailing and it was easily the best choice we could have made. Fadwa, Richard and Christos were all incredibly knowledgeable, kind and generous with their time. After even two short weeks I would happily consider them friends as well as the two groups of sailing hopefuls we lived with. It's hard to be enthusiastic enough about how great our experience was.
The course over the two weeks was well paced for beginners and skillfully managed by Richard and Christos to leaving us feeling confident enough after the relatively short time to want to set out on our own. The lovely 39 foot Bavaria Olive Oyl that hosted us for the time was well kept and thoroughly stocked with food by the effusive Fadwa. She was happy to cater to us as vegetarians for the first week and for the second week provide lots of Vegan fare to cater to another one of the crew members. Like all yachts the boat was cosy but even with four of us on the course for the week felt spacious enough. It was the perfect venue for a quiet drink after a day of sailing. Combined with the marina facilities it may even have given us an unreasonably luxurious view of sailing!
I would recommend AS to anyone looking to learn sailing or improve their skills. They have the understanding and breadth to coach anything from the most basic knots to fine sail trimming all why being excellent company in an amazing location.

Dear Fadwa and dear Richard.
Thank you very much for the good time with your Atlantic Sailing school on Lanzarote. The boots are in good condition and they are equipped with very confortable beding. The food provided does not leave open any demands! The standard your trainers (RYA instructors)are teaching is on very high level. I have learnt a lot and specifically adapted and improved my know-how. I leave you site with very good feelings. All the best to you and Richard. Andreas

while i was looking for options to improve my sailing skills during the winter months, i came across atlantic sailing and immediately knew that i want to go to lanzarote and train with them.
fadwa was very helpful and kind upfront as well as during my weeks on the island. She always tried to make my stay as perfect as she could.
my first week was with chris, an amazingly competent teacher who knew exactly how to break things down to the essence. brilliant.
In my second week, richard was our coach and it was just awesome to be able to benefit from his vast experience.
the package they offer is really unbeatable: on top of the great teaching you get a private cabin and all the food you want - yes, fadwa takes good care of that as well :)
be prepared that you might go there just for sailing and end up meeting new friends on top.

I did a 1 week skills course and a 1 week Yachtmaster Offshore prep course + exam with Richard & Fadwa. The school was recommended to me by another student who had completed his Yachtmaster exam. I could not have been happier with the quality of tuition, the quality and upkeep of the boat and the top-class organisation of the process from start to finish. High quality food onboard and we always managed to make time for a post-sail beer. What's more, we always made time for fun! A very professional outfit, I highly recommend Atlantic Sailing. Thanks Fadwa & Richard for guiding me so well on my Yachtmaster Offshore journey, I wish you both continued success and hope to sail with you again in future.

Atlantic sailing is a fantastic sail training organisation, and I have used a few in the past.
Fadwa is the Principle is an amazing host, Richard is a superb instructor who will tease the best out of you during your course. The sailing area is intersteing, dodging huge cruise ships on a daily basis.
I spent 2 weeks with these guys in Lanzerote. First week sail training and getting to know the area. The weather for my first week was unusually very windy (F6-7) and heavy swell. It was tough at the time but looking back I gained great knowledg and experience of heavy weather sailing. The second week the weather returned to normall (F3-4 25-28C sunshine etc) which was great for the exam prep week and the exam itself.
I cant recomend Atlantic Sailing enough.

I can only say kind things about my experience with training with Richard and Fadwa. From the initial communication to the training on the boat, everything was personalised and adapted to our individual abilities and knowledge.
Their approach attracts like-minded people wanting to make the most out of it, which made the days learning even more enjoyable.
Combine this with the great weather conditions in Lanzarote, and you get guaranteed success.
If you want to learn sailing with a human touch, this is the place to be!

In March/April 2022 I completed the competent crew and day skipper training courses with Atlantic Sailing. I found the team to be very professional, the boats were outstanding and the level of care and consideration was fantastic. As a student, I was made to feel like I'd become part of Fadwa and Richard's "extended family", a feeling which persists today. A great experience and highly recommended. What a wonderful introduction to the world of sailing. Thanks gang!
