I visited this bar a couple of times on a holiday to La Palma in early December 2016. If only I had been able to remember it's name and then read 'trpadvisor' reviews, I could have saved myself three months of drooling in anticipation of going back. '415katew' in his review below, states the place 're-opens in spring 2017'. I was in La Palma from 9th. to 16th. March this year - closed! However, from my earlier visit, I can wholeheartedly agree with '415katew' and others that the bottled 'craft ales' are first class. I tried three before I settled on the IPA which is about 6.8%. In fact most are pretty strong tackle, a welcome change from the bland Dorada and the like. I was less smitten with the on-tap porter which took some chewing. On one visit, I had a light lunch of serrano ham and asparagus, with cherry tomatoes and a warm balsamic dressing, served with warm breads. This was also first class, as are the barman and the chief whipper-in / waiter, both very friendly and entertaining. I am going back to La Palma the first week in December 2017 and would hope that this place, unique in Santa Cruz, is on that occasion, open!

Response from Antonio C, Gerente at La Sirena Beer & Wine House
Responded May 10, 2017
Espero verles pronto. Un cordial saludo, Antonio Gil

Loved this bar - situated on the Avenida Maritima facing the marina, we went there three times and were greeted by the most entertaining maitre'D we found all week. He was very funny, and appeared genuinely sad when we said we were leaving the next day. We drank the local beers - they sell locally brewed beer there - and I preferred the blond beer, hubby liked the brown beer, They did tapas to die for - I loved the bruschetta with the walnut on top - I never did find out what the topping was, but it was delicious! The bar is popular with tourists coming off the cruise ships - they walk past and the maitre'D is very persuasive. We had a great time and will return next time we are in La Palma!

Totaly unexpected, we went in to the La Sirena. Situated at the marina of Santa Cruz with an fantastic view at the ocean. These bar has three Levels and at the top it is very scenic. The waiter is an very funny and always in good homour being man. Try to talk with him - you will enjoy! The beer is local and you can taste a lot of different flavors. That visit made already our day - thanks a lot.

Great craft beer right on the beach (once they reopen it). Ran by a fantastic knowable and beer loving gentleman. A must if thirsty in the area

La Sirena was an unexpected gem. As a fan of interesting beers i hadn't expected to find such a range of local beers (mostly brewed in micro breweries on La Palma and Tenerife). A good bottled range and a few on tap. You can self serve from pumps aruond the building with a prepayment card. it's opposite the beach which, once it reopens in spring 2017, will make the prepayment card a great option so as not to have cash on the beach. Very very nice chap running the place.
