The gardens are interesting although a little tired and lacking in maintenance probably because there is no charge. Apart from a large map on a board and quite a good number of plant information signs there is little overall information, no leaflets and no cafe. The restaurant just opposite the entrance won't serve drinks unless you have meal. A lot... More

Our guide book suggested using the lower entrance, be warned there is no car park, only by the road side much of which is a drop down from the road surface.(20cms) We were up and down the road several before we found a place. It is free, you just wander in, no kiosk, no leaflets or maps, you just set... More

Were lloking forward to visit Jardin Canario..But very unpleasant surprise...With a warning sign...to go down at your own risk..Warning dangerous track.....People were turning back....Finally went down by taxi...This garden is mostly a cactus garden with very few flowers...Really not our vision of a botanical garden..We have seen it ,no regrets but won't go back..will recommend with a warning..

One of my favourite places to visit on the Island of Gran Canaria. A beautiful place to walk about though has quite steep and uneven paths so is unsuitable if not very mobile. It's full of unusual plants and has an extensive collection of Cacti. Also there is a wonderful restaurant on the site with lovely views over the gardens

Got the local bus from Santa Brigida. Very easy, driver told us where to get off. Hotel had given us a map leaflet - ask for one at your hotel as we did not see anywhere to get one at the Gardens, and there are not that many signs. It is a trek down to the bottom of the site... More

One of the places we always take visitors. Free to visit, handy half hour or so bus from santa catalina, beautiful cacti and dragon trees amongst the huge variety of flora.

For those that are into Botanical Gardens...this is the place to be. Excellent designed botanical garden with lot's of cactus from all over the world. Just a pity that there's hardly any sign in anything else than Spanish. Nice place to get away from the city and the beach.

We took a 301 bus from Santa Catalina bus station direct to the top entrance of the Botanic Gardens. It was very straightforward. There's a cafe/restaurant at the top, outside the gardens but we took a picnic so we could enjoy that in the heart of the garden. The garden itself was a peaceful haven away from the hustle of... This is probably one of the largest botanical gardens you might have seen. The variety of the different botanical species not only include those of all the islands, but also parts of Africa, Australia and Asia. A great place to enjoy the day with the kids.

We took a look local bus to the Jardin Canario in Tafira Alta. This was very reasonable and it dropped us at the top entrance. However when we walked through to what we thought was the start of the gardens we discovered that most of them were at the bottom of a steep path going down the terraced hillside. I... More
