This restaurant is set in the botanical gardens in Gran Canaria. Its located above the gardens, so if you have a chance to sit at one of the tables at the balcony you will enjoy an excellent view. It's been recently refurbished, its decoration reminds me of an English countryhouse, with a scent of typical canary house, done with excellent taste.... More

When we visited, Spring was 6-8 weeks away, so the root of color seen in some of these photos was just a promise. Even so, it was a green oasis of calm. I am not a gardener, but I can certainly appreciate the skillful layout of this massive reserve. We chose to enter the park from the top of the... More

These gardens are so peaceful and interesting.Spent a full day here. Shared my lunch with some fairly large but friendly lizards. (Took a picnic ) . Care is needed if you attempt to use some of the steep winding paths and steps to an from the higher levels. Advance warning signs are in place.

This excellent garden is a must-see for anyone who likes plants and wildlife. Wear decent shoes as some of the paths are steep and uneven. You'll need a good head for heights if you want to scramble up the steep ravine steps! There are zones for each type of Canarian environment with the plants beautifully kept and labelled. You could... More

These gardens are well worth a visit. In contrast to the arid stark tourist areas of the south, this is an oasis of greenery. Its worth visiting the information office to pick up a guide leaflet so that you can plan your walk. I parked on the roadside near the lower entrance and it was quite a climb to the... More

The garden is huge....and its free....when you enter go straight ahead, over the stone bridge ...its signposted, to a center where you can get a map of the garden. The cactus garden is definitely worth seeing. The garden itself climbs up the hillside....we spent 1.5 hours walking around and probably saw a third of it....parking is along the road in... More

Well worth a visit. Half the garden is up a mountainside, making for a terrific view. 100 characters yet?

I agree with all earlier comments about how good the gardens are and definitely well worth a visit - especially as they are free. I went by bus from Las Palmas. If you can speak Spanish it would be worth asking the driver to let you know when you have reached the gardens. Our driver didn't bother telling us when... More

Great day out among beautiful local flora (and some fauna too). We walked from the bottom entrance to the top one and back, meandering to different parts of the garden. Some parts of the trail were steep, but even older visitors managed well. Would not recommend climbing steeper parts to anybody suffering from vertigo though, as there are no barriers... More
