A real, traditional golf course in a green environment
Jan 2021
My favourite course on the island, located right on the rim of the famous Bandama crater. Even though this is a rather short course and the fairways are quite close to each other But this is a real golf club, not a tourist trap.
The club is actually the oldest in Spain and the course dates from the 1950s. Greens are therefore comparatively small, but very fast. A course that requires clever course management in order to score well..
Due to the location, and altitude (400m) the weather can vary, even during the day
For more information: you can find videos on the course on known internet platforms.

Outdated, worn out
Jul 2020
- Lots of patches of dry and brown grass on the fairway
- They don't have a birdie book, pin position
- Greens are OK
- Windy
- Overrated
- The space for the restaurant had only 4 tables where young golfers ate the sandwiches they brought with them. Not decent for Spain’s oldest golf course

Caddie Takes in Magnificent Scenery
May 2017
Before I begin this humble review, I have to say that I am not a golfer. Indeed, as I have not golfed in my life, I am singularly ill-equipped to write about a Spanish golf course. But my background working as a caddie in Western New England allowed me to get invited to tote some tourist golfers bags around the Bandama course. This is the oldest course in Spain. So this a long-time neighbor also got the chance to take in the amazing views of the nearby crater and the blue sky with its wisps of white clouds provided a pleasant atmosphere for the players.
This is an amazing place.

Fabulous welcome and a proper golf course
Mar 2017 • Couples
Drove up to Real Golf from Maspalomas. Course next door to crater with amazing views down the slopes and onto to Las Palmas and the coast in the distance. Easy drive which took about 45 minutes mainly motorway.
Greeted by club manager who was friendly welcoming and very efficient. You can hire a buggy but there are plenty of electric trolleys to hire for very reasonable rates and they encourage you to walk as the course is compact and relatively flat although the holes approaching the club house are hilly. A "proper" golf course with all the ambience and facilities you would expect from a private members club. You need to play golf to a reasonable handicap standard to enjoy the experience as the greens are fast and tricky and some the par 3 holes require some creative thinking! We really enjoyed ourselves (handicaps 5 and 18). Also it is very much cooler than down on the coast even so shorts and a shirt plus light weight sweater some of the time more than adequate.
Would definitely play here again. Do not overlook this gem if you are staying in the south of the island and have a car.

We played this course and were very happy with the facilities, as well as the friendly staff.

The course is stunning and is in very good order.

For the more energetic it can be walked, but as its on the side of a volcano we opted for buggies. These came in very handy in places!

We are looking forward to returning next year.

Spains oldest golfclub!
Sep 2016
We just had to play Spains oldest golfcource it's a must. The holes are narrow and changeling and fun. Very typical for old sources designed for another typ of golf but works very well. The source was in a good shape, nice greens and beautiful. Since it is upp in the hills the weather was a bit cooler then at sea level. fitted us well. Just go for it.

Decent course, but very dangerous.. They squeezed 18 holes on a tiny piece of land. Expensive too ! Fabulous views, but the course is crammed in. It should be remodeled. Very windy !
The course near the coastline, El Cortijo is much better, designed by
Stirling & Martin. Play El Cortijo Club De Campo. GREAT GOLF COURSE. El Cortijo is more enjoyable, challenging, and more fun. Usually less windy and warmer !
