Festival of Santa Cecilia
Nov 2015
Special to experience Christian culture by a devoted procession for Santa Cecilia with Banda di Musica. This festival is around 3rd weekend of November and celebrates the holy declared Santa Cecilia protecting the musicians. Starts procession from the central church to the harbor and back. With procession music.

We had a 1 day trip from Tenerife to La Gomera and it was worth it! Great trip. La Gomera is very quite island with rocky beaches, lots of banana fields (you need to try banana liquor there), very good sweet wine, small city town with museums, restaurants and hotels. Perfect for relax. There is one of the oldest forests on Earth. There' s only one similar in Brazil. Millions years old, human untouched. Garajonay National Park La Gomera Island - Unesco heritage.

Not as anticipated!

We travelled from Los Christianos on the Armas ferry service. We had a bad crossing so arrived at the coach on the island feeling worse for wear. No where in the brochure or on the booking site did it warn us of the ride to come. Roads are narrow with sheer drops and reversing a coach to allow another to pass coming down improved our prayer life no end! Weather at the top of the mountain was cold, windy and raining. We weren't dressed for this as no advice was given to warn us. However, the island is green and beautiful, the architecture fascinating and the tour guide knowledgeable. We found the lunch mediocre, best bit was hearing the whistling language of the islanders. Our advice is take a weather proof coat, walking boots and ensure you have a good head for heights and sea travel if you are thinking of booking this trip!

Fantastic day out
Nov 2013 • Friends
We travelled to Los Cristianos by coach and boarded the Fred Olson fast ferry and 45 minutes later landed at San Sebastion. We were taken to a new coach by our guide who was excellent, his knowledge was vast and he was very interesting to listen to.
We visited the national park and en route stopped for photos, we also stopped for a drink, then onto our lunch stop, we had soup, chicken, rice and Canadian potatoes with mojo sauce, then bananas and ice cream, water and wine on the table, cheap wine but wet.
We finished the trip in San Sebastion for a look around then back on the ferry to Tenerife.
A really good day out.

I make a trip from Tenerife to Gomera by boat, was nice and relaxing. when I arrive there I was impressed by beauty of the island, by mountains and nice viewpoint, by sea golfs, natural sea beaches with stones and sand, amazing roads into the mountains, into the forest and valley, nice people and good food. This island it is a must see at least in a lifetime.
