to life! Superb restaurants and the locals are so friendly it makes for a lovely time. Just off the port there are children's playgrounds which are well maintained and there are also local bars to get a flavour of the area. The best night we had was in a local bar well sitting at a table outside it listening to... More

One of the largest natural harbours in the world. Lined on one side with various types of restarants and shops and by wonderful villas on the other side, has an island in the middle andvarious bays where one can swim and enjoy a great dinner. It is situated in the most easterly point of Spain on the Island of menorca

We spent a week in menarche over New Year and like Mahon. The Hotel Port Mahon had beautiful rooms and an excellent restaurant with a wonderful 'help yourself' buffet at night.

Lovely little town. Quiet and safe. More hilly than you'd expect, but gentle slopes. No geckos or nasty critters, although quite a few cats and a couple of mosquitoes even at New Years Eve. A pretty and clean, quiet, rambling town. DIA Supermarket in the basement of the old Carmelite Convent Market. Taxi to/from the airport only €15 even on... More

Mahon is a picturesque port and, if you visit Menorca, a trip to Mahon is recommended. At the top of the steps, you will find the fish and indoor markets and an alley between the two offers a spectacular view of the port.

We walked along the edge of the cliffs from Es Castell and then followed a steep path and steps to join the end of the promenade at Puerto Mahon. From there we followed the promenade around the harbour to the quay in the centre of Mahon - there is bus, but the 2 mile or so walk with a blue... More

We truly enjoyed our visits to Mahon recently. We loved the old part of the city and the market that is full of really nice stalls selling lots of leather goods, souvenir items as well as other fancy goods and food. We went on the glass bottomed boat which was just brilliant and the trip around the bay was great!!!... More

Whilst staying in Es Castell we visited Mahon a couple of times. There are plenty of things to see and do. We enjoyed the little land train that takes you around the port for about 6 Euro's and also the market. The marina has some lovely boats and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from for a bite to... More

We very much enjoyed our trip to Menorca's superb deep water port at the capital of the island...Mahon. There are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants overlooking the port as well as ordinary outside seating. it's only a short walk up to historic town centre with its many buildings that were erected in the 'British era of occupancy'. Well worth... More

We briefly visited the port today. Previously I had only ever driven through. The port itself is beautiful. My children loved looking at the boats and the fish. There are a lot of places to eat and drink, although they don't all look very friendly.
