It is well worth the winding drive up - 360 degrees view! Gives a very good idea of where you are going, and where you have been.

We took the bus from Alaior to Es Mercurial then started to walk up Monte Toro. It’s about a 4km walk (took us about 50 mins) so wear comfy footwear - we are of good fitness and it was still quite a workout! Views from...More

If you have transport this is a must do. This is a 350+ metre ‘mountain’ right in the centre of Menorca - it is the highest point and you can literally see the entire coastline of the whole island. A large statue of Jesus stands...More

We have visited here before, but will never tire of coming to look at the views and church. This place is approached by a very very steep and winding road infact the highest point in Menorca. Just hope and pray that the car gets you...More

We go here every year. The view is lovely and the café does a lovely coffee and cake after visiting the monastery.

Can't walk to the top without being on the road with a real risk of being hit by a car. Really annoying. Even if the mountain is private property and can't have a hiking track at least a footpath along the road should be built....More

Rent a car and drive up to Monte Toro. On a sunny day you can see the entire island. On the top there is a church and a café.

Taking the ferry from mallorca to minorca arrivng at 10.30. Day 1 Torre de Gaumes..Binibecca Vell..Es Castell (lunch) Mahon( poss Fort La Mola) Es grau then drive up to Fornells to check in to the hotel at about 5.30 +/-..evening meal in port Fornells at 9.00 and walk over to the tower. I know I wont have time for in depth visits at my main attractions, But can you give me an idea how long you would spend at Torre de Gaumes and La Mola. Your schedule on Day 1 sounds rather tight. After arriving at Ciutadella theancient village of Torre d;en Gaumes (sometimes spelled Galmes) is really worthwhile and worth spending time at. Going over to the architect designed Poble des Pescadors in Binibeca Vell will take time as you know it is on the far side of island. The visit won't take long in itself and it isn't too far to Es Castell for lunch. Where I think you might run into difficulty is trying to squeeze in a trip to La Mola which...More

Im off to Menorca mid August for about the 10th time. I went a lot when i was younger and after a 4 year break i went last year again. Last year was the first time on my own with my partner, it was a relaxed holiday we visited a few places but the majority of it was chilled by the pool and beach. This year however i would like to do more things, i remember when i was young we went to a couple of waterparcs. Im based in fornells which would be the best one to go to? Monte Toro. Didnt manage...More

Another thing i have just thought of. I usually pay 40euros to get a taxi from the airport to my resort in playas de fornells. Is there a cheaper alternative or is cab the best way to save hassle of buses?
Monte Toro. (3 Replies)
Hi all, arrive in Menorca this Thursday for 2 weeks, cant wait! Have been many times before, this is second time on my own with my girlfriend and i want to show her Monte Toro. I have been up there many times as a kid with my family but have never made my own way up there. We are based in fornells and thinking of getting a bus to Mercedal and then a taxi? Is this the easiest way or is there an alternative? Cheers.
