Half-Day Catamaran Trip in Menorca

53 reviews
Forget the effort of touring Menorca’s northern coast by car—and enjoy it in the eminently more relaxing fashion of a boat trip on this small-group cruise. Relax aboard a comfortable, skippered catamaran as you sail the marine-reserve waters from Fornells, and watch as cliffs, pine-fringed promontories, and beaches unfurl before you. Along the way, stop at coves to swim and snorkel; and savor drinks and snacks on deck.

The vehicle access to Macarella is now limited to the shuttle bus from Ciutadella which means it doesn’t get too busy.be warned, though, as the walk from the car park is still about 15 minutes and is a hike back up a steepish path. There is still a bar operating at the beach, but no umbrellas or recliners to hire, so take your own. You can get shade under one of the trees, however. The cove is very pretty and the water calm, so well worth a visit if you don’t mind the walk! Also, book your bus tickets in advance for a specific time to make sure you get a seat!

It’s an amazing beach hidden between rocks cliffs and forest. Road to get to the beach is a bit narrow (i really thought we were lost) but worth the drive. Big car park and then 20-30 minutes walk (depends how fast you walk downhill and then a bit longer coming back to the car park) but it’s worth the walk. An amazing beach with a restaurant there so you can get something to eat and drink and it wasn’t very expensive. Just brilliant. You can walk through cliffs and forest to other beach. You have to see it if you are in Menorca.

A beautiful beach hidden among rocks and forests. It requires a 20 minute walk to get there however its definitely worth it. If you reach the place from Cala Galdana you can also check out some stunning viewpoints over the cliffs. The path through the forest is itself good for the eyes to see. At the end of the path there are many stairs down to reach the water level.

Macarella is a lovely beach with a beach side bar and restaurant. After tripping and skinning my knees the lifeguards at Macarella beach washed them down and applied antiseptic. They couldn't have been more helpful. A big thanks to Diego and Edourdo

We like to use independent ways to get to places - especially when you have to prebook your departure time! But this is one instance when, if you are not in the parking lot before 8:30am, book the bus! We tried on 2 separate days to get to these beaches, only to be turned away as the bus was full OR the car parks were full. Very frustrating when you have queued for an hour only to be told to make a U turn and head back out. So book - or hire a scooter or a boat!
