- AnnePaulT7717 contributionsA GemI visited Cala Pregonda in September during the week. It wasn’t too busy but it wasn’t too quiet either. We parked at Binimel-La at about 10:30 in the morning. We travelled there in a hire car and some of the roads were quite narrow and the final road very bumpy. The car park was quiet on arrival but there was a steady flow of traffic and was very busy when we left. It took about 30 minutes to get to Pregonda and it was quite a hot walk. It isn’t too difficult though there is a bit of a climb just before arriving at the beach. That said, the views are stunning. There are no facilities at the beach so take plenty of water. Pregonda was fantastic. The views from the beach were stunning, the sea was calm and warm and the atmosphere was very relaxed. I had read that this was a beach where you can bathe au naturel but there were no nude people when I arrived and I noticed only about 5 all day. Don’t be put off if nude bathers bother you because there were so few but likewise if you do want to bathe nude, don’t be put off either because no one will bat an eyelid. There is a restaurant at Binimel-La where you can get refreshments when you get back to the car park. I would fully recommend Pregonda as a must see place in Menorca.Visited September 2022Traveled as a coupleWritten September 10, 2022
- Brownie28 contributionsDef worth a visitGo early! It gets packed, trust me, "Parking cala Binimel-La y cala". After reading some great advice we got there early 08.00 at the car park name above and right by the start of the trail and only handful of cars. The trail to get there is rocky, so a kids buggy is a no no unless your going to carry them, but as there is no shade and trail is rocky I'd give it a miss its about 25min trek. Also, as I found at the time we arrived, the wife and I were engulfed in mossies OMG they were on a mission and 20 or more bites later each we managed to get to Cala Pregonda - Make sure you spray that's the best advice I can give you!!!. Once at the beach, the mossies cleared up and wow what a beach and the snorkeling is fabulous with shoals of fish around you so take some bread to feed them from the beach or as you swim and even saw some small rays. The sea is crystal clear and warm and great for children who were able to walk there or non swimmers as it goes out gradually. The little rock pool areas are great as you can swim in them also. There are no facilities at the beach, so go prepared, cream, water, umbrella as no shade but def worth a visit. After a few hours, the beach was rammed, but as we were there earlier, we had got to enjoy it and left when the hords were still coming. On the trek back not a single mossie so must have been due to the early morning and being a bit cooler but when we got back to the car park wow cars parked as far as the eyes could see, and this road is very uneven and rocky, Gravel so drive carefully.Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten September 8, 2023
- Alessandra FunciaArisdorf, Switzerland307 contributionsMust see and experience this beach. Watch out for the wind direction before going.Specially beautiful. We got there from the other side as the road the beach specific parking lot was closed. So we walked about one hour over two small hills and crossed two beaches. The whole way is magic with this reddish sand beach and hills, stones. Impressive beauty. Unforgettable. Never experienced a beach like this. The combination of cristal clear sea water and the small stone island in front of the beach were just another planet scenery. Great for snorkeling and easy swim till the stone island in front of it.Visited October 2021Traveled with familyWritten October 10, 2021

I persuaded my family to visit this based on no1 on TA. We knew it was a walk from the car park and so set off. My wife was getting increasingly confident that this was a poor decision by me and keen to stop trekking. Undeterred I motivated her and 15yo son onwards until they were really properly fed up. Being the stubborn person I am, I went on alone.
When I got there- well it was a beach (red sand) with some rocks.
Pointless. Swallowing my pride I even admitted it was rubbish to my wife and son (I don't do that too often!)

Not that I like to admit it, but I'm a moaner: although the friend that insisted on taking me to Cala Pregonda had shown me amazing pictures and reassured me that the long walk was worth it, walking in the July heat for a good while "just" to get to the beach didn't set me in the best mood ever. Until I saw the beach. I cannot describe it and pictures don't do justice, perhaps it's not the most beautiful place on Earth (taste is subjective, isn't it?) but it's in my personal top 3 for sure. Red sand and deep blue, crystal water...the colors blend in a unique, amazing combination that takes your breath away. The beach is almost deserted. What else could you possibly wish for?! I wouldn't recommend the trip if you're with your little ones, with elderly people or if you need some "comfort" (no kiosk in sight here!), but otherwise try not to miss it, it would be a real pity.

Be prepared that this is a 30 minute walk from the restaurant at Binimel-la. The main beach is ok, but the nicest parts are to the right side of the beach facing the water. There are rocks and small coves. However it is difficult to get into the water as it is very shallow. The nice part is that you can swim to the island opposite the beach. The water is crystal clear. There is also a bigger rock you can climb with great views.
There are no facilities at the beach.

Visited Pregonda today. Stunning, absolutely stunning walk from the car park. We were there in on own not another soul in sight once we left the car park and restaurant area.
After following the path we came to a strangely sandy and shingle beach which was not all that nice to walk on. But kept going through the traditional Menorcan gate and followed the red, yes red, path and what a sight to behold. It took our breath away and today was a cloudy and showery day with only glimpses of the sun!
But the beauty continued as we crossed over the hill to the stunning Pregonda beach.
The water was just so inviting I could not help myself as I kicked off my shoes to run into the sea.
But horror upon horror as lurking in those beautiful waters was a whole army of evil jellyfish!!
I was so enticed by this beautiful walk and beautiful beach that despite the sun not shining and the iffy temperature and even rain in the air I would have quickly stripped for a swim had it not been for those evil critters.
You must visit Pregonda but BEWARE.

Pictures don't do this place justice. Definitely worth a visit, and not as crowded as mentioned in the reviews! Much more approachable by boat, as there is no parking, but the water is absolutely crystalline and amazing to go for a swim with a partner or the kids. Best beach I've been to!

Unique combination of desert landscape with red sand and cristall water. The parking area is crowded in the high season but you cannot miss to bath into that sea and to walk in the desert to arrive there.
Do not stop at the first beach you find from the parking, continure for another 5-10 minutes and bring the camera with you!

We came with 3 children and 2 grandparents. We parked in the big car park at Cala Binimel-là. The first beach you arrive to is Binimel-là, red sand dark pebbles and dark sea. Go past it! You definitely have to keep walking on for 30 minutes across the star wars landscape to get to Pregonda. This is a crystal clear bay with white/pink sands, rocky islands and shoals to explore. The kids and adults loved this bay for both relaxing swimming and snorkeling. Be warned- there are no services, toilets or bars- so bring an umbrella, water and packed lunch for this one. The kids made a tent out of driftwood and a throw- lots of fun!

Yeah, the beach is handsome. You just have to navigate a trek through Martian terrain to get there. With a baby? Forget it. The buggy won't make the trip for sure. Pack light and take all you need because this place doesn't cater.

Beautiful beach that is definitely worth a visit
The walk there that everyone is talking about is not that hard so don't be scared
Actually with my husband we walked there and decided that the good thing about this beach is the fact that Pregonda has a small beach in between let's call it Pregondita (small beach that has plenty of fish to look at if you're into snorkelling)
Then there's a steep walk up the hilly part that is more challenging
But nothing crazy either
Do check it out
As a reward you can have a delicious dinner at the Binime.la restaurant which so does deserve a shout out!!!

Me and my Partner went to Cala Pregonda after reading the review. I do believe in seeing is believing. We can only say we had amazing time here. To get to this beach you need to be there early or late afternoon. We were there just before noon and the car park already full. We had to park quite far but if you go to the restaurant at the end of the car park, you can actually use their car park, get something to eat and leisurely stroll along the beach. The walk will take you up to 30minutes. If you have small kids I’d suggest to go to a different beach instead unless you are willing to get them to walk in the heat up and down the hills before reaching the beach. Once you there, it will be plenty of spaces and the beach is nice and clean with crystal blue water. You can do the snorkelling too. Bring plenty of water or food because there are no facilities to buy food and toilets. It can get really hot so bring umbrella or beach tent like we did.
Overall this is one not to be missed.

Can you park near to the beach @ Cala Pregonda? We were thinking of taking our kayak there, is it a good area to kayak?

E Cala Pregonda merita.

We love Menorca especially the cami walks from cove to cove. We have been to the island about 14 times. Pregonda is a lovely beach and the walk to it adds to its attraction. However, one listing (July 2017) refers to the jellyfish in Pregonda. What is the jellyfish situation on the island? We go this Saturday.

All depends on wind and current, one area could have jelly fish, another area will not, just he luck of natures movements. Would not worry about it.

My husband is taking a week of sailing lessons. I will be on my own. Is it appropriate to do the half day catamaran tour on my own?
