on a day trip, we were meandering around the back streets when we found it. We decided to have a break we had left early and not eaten, we ordered the breakfast excellent value. We sat outside on the patio, service was excellent the food and coffee and proper freshly juiced orange. we could not believe the price too. 2 small croissants, coffee, orange juice all for 7.60 euros. The book shop it's self was a wonder with a great bar and piano, wished we were staying in the area to go back in the evening. The sq is pretty and perfect for people watching too.

Really nice location - a little bit far from the tourist stuff and a calm area. We was drinking a aperol Spritz and a Hugo - nice taste :) We will come back ASAP.

We came across the bookshop in a small square while waiting for our table at Marc Fish which is just 5 minutes walk away. Managed to get a table on the small terrace and ordered 2 well made G&Ts and pass the time watching people and time go by. IT IS such an attractive square with restaurant tables and buskers and a small antique shop. The book shop is the star with a range of diverse subject books in different languages you could easily spend a few hours without deing disturbed except for ordering a coffee or another drink. We bought a couple of unusual books for Christmas presents and will return on future visits to Palma. The paper bag the books were in was recognised in two shops and the staff seemed to be surprised we had found it and bought something. Do not miss it

Babel is a great place to stop for a refreshing drink. Situated in a quiet street/square close to the Placca Major it's a haven of peace in a very busy part of the city, it is also next to another wine bar which is also good. Perfect place to sit outside and people watch. Sensible prices and really, really good olives. Friendly staff too.
