So art is meant to make you think / reflect right ? And in fairness some of these works have baffled me. Haunted me even. The naked woman in gas mask walking down old stairs in NYC was one such. Others were more playful eg neon thread through huge needles. Or the molten glass works on the top floor. Really enjoyed visiting here. Well worth a visit including for the roof top views over the city and marina.

Very disappointing visit. The much-acclaimed terraces and restaurant closed down completely. The surrounding area is quite rough with graffiti etc. The art on view was not to my taste at all. I think a lot of modern artists are really taking the “Micky”. Certainly not worth it. Interesting historic fortifications could be made better use of.

We visited Es Baluard several years ago and thoroughly enjoyed its architecture and its stimulating experience.
We revisited today and a much looked forward to experience left us flat. Its architecture is special, its art is not. The Miró and Picasso pieces had gone! The reception person did not know where. We paid full entrance fee to see very little. Large spaces totally unused and the once relaxing rooftop bar, with great views was a building site, supposedly due for completion last July.
Perhaps people paying for very little may be helping to save the place. If that is the case and hey/we should know.

When we visited it had exhibitions of 3 modern artists - very contemporary ( Susy Gomez, Jorge Eduardo Eilson, Nauzet Mayor). Adult ticket €6. We spent about 1 1/2 hours here. Great views across sea and port from its open roof top floor. In the Santa Catalina area it's worth exploring this area - great park next door ( Sa Feixina). Visting in March the gallery wasn't busy or crowded.

The fortress and surroundings are of interest and the views scenic, but you can see all that without going inside. Inside, most of the exhibition rooms were closed and there was little on display - a single Miro and no Picassos, in contrast to what we expected. No one told us this before we paid to go in. I expect it is better at other times.

We enjoyed the 4 exhibitions and the variety of works on display. The building is set within ancient fortrous and you can walk along the top of the walls to enjoy a 360 degree view of Palma. We really enjoyed the calm and the culture!

Visited for the morning , behind the old castle walls opposite the marina.
Very contemporary building within the historic fortifications.
Displays the culture and artifacts and art of the region.
Well worth a visit and cool escape from the heat..

Fabulous location overlooking the harbour. The museum is beautiful. The restrooms alone are a work of art. Well worth a visit for that essential shot of culture and art. Very stimulating installations...all worth the six euro entrance fee. Excellent!

We were shocked to find that there was very little on display in the museum. We had been informed that one room would not be available but they should have told us that there was little else in the building. No 100s of paintings as was advertised. Just some pretty basis installations which made little or no sense. For such a prestigious museum this was very disappointing.

A huge building with lots of wasted space but, critically on a hot day, very good air conditioning! Visit on a Friday and you only have to make a small charity contribution. Pleased we did as the exhibits were not worth the full fee. Very pretentious modern art which is quite thin in content. No cafe. Roof terrace gives you some great views of Palma from high up.
