The beach and sea look amazing from pictures, but in reality the sand is very hard and covered in cigarette butt's from previous people. Also, about 6 or 7 alcohol seller's pace up and down the beach constantly shouting, singing at the top of their voices trying to sell their wares of Mojito's and Sangria. The lucky, lucky men weren't too bad in comparison. Totally spoilt my visit there. Preferred to travel and find much nicer beaches without the noise. Would not return as better places to visit.

My husband and I sat on some sun loungers and were waiting to be charged. Then a bearded man came to charge 54€ for two loungers and an umbrella. Being surprised about the high price, I asked where the prices are displayed, and he simply said “no pay, get out”. I insisted to know where they are displayed and he showed me a spot that was completely out of sight for most people and couldn’t have noticed it. He was incredibly rude, and humiliated us, instead of simply explaining and maybe suggesting the ones half price in the same spot. The loungers were no VIP loungers, they were incredibly dirty. This was a bad experience for the last day of our vacation. He continued to rudely kick out other people. Stay away from the guy in green hat and shorts with a beard.

Nice place to relax, but they shouldn't allow those who don't pay to stay so close to you. I paid for the beds and the sun ombrella, means I paid for the shade, hence I should be able to move my tanning beds . this often can't happen.

Very busy party resort, especially around Mega Park and 'Bar Street', I believe it is like Magaluf strip but for the Germans instead of the English. When we visited in June it was very busy, lots of groups of young males, obviously having a good time. Whilst there were no major issues, if you want a lively noisy atmosphere, then the resort is for you, it is not a family resort at all. Not a great deal to do, some water sports and a long promenade full of shops, bars and restaurants. Also found the resort a little grubby, lots of beer cans and bottles on the beach and prom.

Nice clean beach and lovely views. I’ve often walked along this promenade out of season. There’s plenty of shops and bars open even out of season, and a very enjoyable walk from C’an Pastilla to El Arenal. However, I would be glad to avoid this area in full season, but I’m sure it’s a young person’s paradise (I’m 60!). There’s a full assortment of tourist shops, car and motorcycle hire, Hotels, Restaurants and Bars. There’s a lot of German bars reflecting the huge amount of German Tourists, but these are all friendly and staff multi-lingual.

Very rude waiter and waitress. After spending so much money, the staff were very abrasive laughing in our faces and they didn’t even want to provide the password for the internet for a three year old. Shocking I would think the basic service would include wifi. The food was overpriced for what it was.

Arenal is the far eastern part of the Palma beach which starts close to the Cathedral in the island's capital.
Arenal is a busy resort, very frequented with tourists, mostly German.
The beach itself is very nice, however the back streets are a disaster - very narrow, impossible to park, nothing to see if walking and filled with people mostly drunk.

Not a great location for families, more the German version of Magaluf! There area by the Mega nightclub is dire. Filthy streets behind it. During the day there are a lot of drunk people in and out of the club. It’s just not suitable for young kids.

Can’t believe some of the negative reviews on here! It’s a lovely beach - clean, soft sand and a warm sea, great for swimming. Rental of sun beds and sunshade is reasonably priced. Plenty of good bars and cafes along the clean, well maintained promenade.
We saw people enjoying themselves - not hoards of German youths rolling around drunk - not even one in fact. There’s nothing wrong with El Arenal and Playa del Palma is great to enjoy a relaxing holiday by the sea.

The whole town is over run with German tourists who go around in large groups and are very intimidating and loud. This place is set up as a German hotspot from the restaurants to the hotels. Very dilapidated and old looking. Beaches nice and clean.
