The cathedral is in an absolutely beautiful location. It is pretty huge and there is a gorgeous view of the impressive architecture from the park below. It is free to enter and look at the beautiful art and architecture inside.

What a great cathedral - truly worth a detour. Extraordinary combination of old and modern incorporating Gaudy into the grand scheme. Spent a worthwhile hour looking at the myriad of chapels and episcopal splendour.

The Cathedral of Santa Maria of Palma, more commonly referred to as La Seu, is a Gothic Roman Catholic cathedral located in Palma, Majorca, Spain, built on the site of a pre-existing Arab mosque. It is 121 metres long, 55 metres wide and its nave is 44 metres tall. Designed in the Catalan Gothic style but with Northern European influences,... More

I am not shelling out €7 each to look around inside. Tacky entrance area and cheap tourist shops around Could do a lot better

You can't really visit Palma without going to the cathedral, a disproportionately large structure near to the seafront. You have to pay to go in (7 euros) but the inside is awesome - it's apparently one of the finest gothic buildings in the whole of Spain. The sheer size is amazing but it also has an altar canopy designed by... More

Do take your time when visiting this fantastic church. Time to have a seat where you digest the impressions of the great glass mosaic windows, the tall columns, the arches, the rich decorations. Then wander around a see the chapels, all but one decorated in classic with gold. And the one? I do nut understand that anyone has allowed this... More

Palma has lots of history but a cathedral where construction started in 1230! It's a must see in Mallorca. Outside it's a huge imposing Gothic Roman Catholic Church. It is quite fantastic inside and a complete surprise of detail and treasure and light. Even Gaudi made a contribution to the interior. Before travelling, read up on this place online -... More

We went to the Cathedral just as the Changing of the Guard was taking place, apparently it happens on a Saturday at 12 noon. So that was a great coincidence and good timing!!! Then we went into the cathedral with its' quite stunning features. We found it unusual that there was no charge, a pleasant surprise. Of course that led... More

We visited the Cathedral as part of a tour run by Spain Day Tours, which was excellent. The Cathedral is just plain spectacular, and certainly not to be missed if you visit Palma.
