About
Located a short distance from Palma Beach, this aquarium is one of the most popular attractions in the Balearics. With 55 tanks representing habitats across the Mediterranean and tropics, it houses the largest collection of live corals in Europe, as well as one of the deepest shark tanks—which you can view upclose through a glass-bottom boat or scuba diving experience. For something different, take a guided backstage tour to see how the aquarium is managed, and look out for special programs during the holidays that allow you to spend the night in the aquarium. – Tripadvisor

It was a nice aquarium with a good variety of fish, and of course the sharks were very impressive. We paid extra for the 'Giants of the Ocean' show, which was good but the whale noises during the show were extremely loud.
It was also quite expensive, both getting into the aquarium and getting there. We travelled from Santa Ponsa, and the bus and taxi fares to get back and forth were far more than our research had suggested they would be. We were quoted approx €50 to €60 to get a taxi back to Santa Ponsa. We negotiated that down to €40, however, tracking the journey on Googlemaps on the way back it became obvious that the taxi was taking the long way back to justify the price, and it put us off having another day out in Palma, although it looked to be a beautiful place and I will look to stay in Palma if I ever go back to Mallorca.

Booked with tickets agent in Magaluf, included entrance plus free bus which picked up outside our hotel and 3D whale experience.
Lots of different and varied fish/sea life to see. Especially enjoyed the glass bottomed shark boat (10€ each extra). You can also pay to swim way the rays, didn’t do it but looked amazing.
Indoor and outdoor play areas for children. Also, virtual aquarium where they can colour their fish, turtle, etc and watch it swimming around. Great fun.
Visit was for 5 hours which I thought would be too long, but lots to do and see so went really quick.

We 3 seniors visited Palma Aquarium last week and had a brilliant time. There was so much to see and we were lucky to be there at feeding time so got to see the sharks and rays being fed which was great. The Palma Aquarium is linked into an ocean conservation organisation so if you get your photo taken at the start and then buy it later, the ten euros goes towards helping to keep the seas plastic free and to rescue animals that have been snared in it. They really do brilliant work there. Not only does the aquarium have extensive viewing areas inside, but also have a Mediterranean garden with other viewing areas outside. The aquarium is divided into different areas, such a Mediterranean, Jungle, etc so a wide range to species to see. The restaurant is also very good with nice food available at reasonable prices and a lovely play area for kids and a nice gift shop too. It would be great for a family visit - lots of kids there having a 'whale' of a time!! :-)

Absolutely shocking experience. Do not go if you value your safety. Having booked online being assured of reduced capacity and strict entrance times to reduce crowds etc, I arrived to find a huge queue. Was left waiting nearly an hour in very cramped conditions with no social distancing being respected. On finally getting past the ticket both I was forced to queue for a photograph and then told I must remove my mask to be photographed, so that they can later try and Rip you off for a poor quality picture for 10 euros. They refuse to tell you it will be this much when they actually take your photo! We then queued again for over 10 minutes to get into the actual aquarium! This was a horrible experience too as people without masks breath down your neck fighting for a space to look into the tanks. Far too many people allowed in at once meant it was absolute chaos inside. It felt traumatizing trying to fight for a space to be away from other people. This is greed on the behalf of the company, falsely claiming to be covid secure but allowing far too many people in to be anywhere near safe! We had to fight our way to the exit as soon as possible, and even that was made difficult as you are forced through a crowded area where they forcefully try to sell your photo to you! Hugely dissatisfied.

We are very sorry that you got such a bad impression of your visit to Palma Aquarium. Wearing the mask inside is mandatory and we have signage along the route and a team of guides who are responsible for remembering it. In outdoor areas it is not mandatory. We understand that to take photos some visitors take it off to take a picture when there are no people nearby. We will report internally and take it into account to detect points of improvement in the quality of our services. Response translated with digital tool. Sorry for any writing errors.

We had booked an entrytime and purchased tickets online beforehand, but we had to wait in line outside and we were stuffed inside into the chaos with way too many people.

The aquarium it self was nice, but their COVID-19 safety protocols were just one huge joke. There was at least 100 people in the same room at all times with no room for personal space. We waited in line in front of every single tank, but we were passed by multiple people who obviously thought they were more important than we were.

While waiting for the whale-movie to start, we were forced to wait in a small room with at least 50 other people before we got into the theater, which was packed until the last seat.

Huge disappointment.

We are sorry that Palma Aquarium has not met your expectations, although we have thousands of animals of hundreds of marine species, one of the largest shark tanks in Europe and the largest exhibition of live corals in the world. Please note that there are currently no capacity restrictions in Spain, so we are gradually returning to normality and recovering the maximum capacity, although it is compulsory to wear a mask indoors. Thank you for your comment and we take note of it. Response translated with a digital tool. We apologise for any possible drafting errors.

My boyfriend and I went to the aquarium this morning to kill some time before going to the airport and leaving Majorca. We are aquarists and we were saddened to see how little space these animals have for their size.

The experience at this aquatic zoo is definitely amazing, having the ability to see all kinds of sea creatures. However, we were slightly disappointed. The Aquadome (3D film about whales) was very very short (about 5 mins) and definitely not worth the "ticket price + Aquadome" option. We would have preferred it being longer given the fact that we paid €8 more for that.

The park in general was way smaller than what we expected and what we are used to for that price.

This place is amazing , well worth a visit, very well organised . Great to see the tanks and every looked after and clean. The Whale aqua dome film was excellent , not worth 5 euros extra though .

Thank you very much for your comment, we are very happy that you recommend us and that you have enjoyed your visit. Tell him that the price of the Aquadome is adjusted based on the cost of maintaining the theater itself and the equipment that serves it. Respuesta traducida con herramienta digital. Excellent range of fish to view, sharks seahorses etc all in crystal clear water and large tanks .
We spent a full day here with 4 children aged 2-11 and every one was happy and loves sitting relaxing aswell watching the sharks and then turtles in the Mediterranean gardens.
Food is over priced and lacking taste but same as always with places like this
Would recommend on a trip to Mallorca to anyone old or young as there's lots to see, lifts to all levels and lots of information on offer

Arrived at aquarium for opening at 10:00, paid €75.50 for 2 adults and 1 child.
The indoor play area was advertised as being open Monday - Friday 10:30 - 14:00 but this was closed and when I approached staff about this some of them were unaware it was closed and others explained it was due to decorating although there was no one inside and all lights were off when we walked past. The outdoor park also didn’t have all amenities open.
Took us around 40 minutes to 1 hour to complete the aquarium and I am certainly disappointed ! Would not recommend to anyone and definitely won’t be back !!!

I can only recommend to visit this place. The whole area is quite big, aquariums are divided into specific areas (Pacific ocean, Atlantic ocean etc.), with many various species. I couldn´t take my eyes of little sea horses, they were so tiny and cute.
I really enjoyed the "jungle" section with real waterfall. I was quite scared of 3D projection - it was really interesting and impressive, but those big whales swimming everywhere around and above my head - no more, thanks. :D
I got two photos from aquarium - one from the entrance with my husband and second one with beautiful parrot. Purchase of these photos supports protection of marine life. I think it´s a good idea and nice souvenir. :)
