This palace has the Renaissance style and was constructed by Fernan Lopez de Escoriaza, who was the doctor of the Emperor Carlos V. It is the best conserved Renaissance building in the city.

It was constructed over the first walls of the city and the square in front of it is a hotspot of the city.
Unfortunately, they are making visits not very often.

During your visit you will also pass at the “Palacio Escoriaza – Esquivel”. The “Escoriaza-Esquivel” Monumental Complex belongs to the municipal patrimony since the end of 2010 thanks to an agreement reached with the Ecological Heritage Foundation of Aguirre, owner of the monumental complex. This building was ordered to be built by Fernán López de Escoriaza and his wife Victoria de Anda and Esquivel and this in the middle of the 16th century. Due to its architectural and ornamental richness, it is one of the best examples of Renaissance civil architecture, built with masonry stone around a square patio. Rehabilitation works will be carried out so that this large space can be incorporated into the artistic corridor of the Historic Quarter with new social, cultural and economic uses. You will also see on the end a part of the ancient walls of the village.

The building is not particularly interested but the brilliant guide uses the building to give a lecture on the character of Dr. Escoriaza, his time, the city.

The facade is lovely but there it stops. You can't get inside so not really worth visiting...such a shame.

Nice building with a square attached to it, also the fortified wall is located next to it. It's said that it is one of the best examples of civil renaissance architecture in Vitoria.

Medieval city palace of one of Vitoria's many noble families. Unfortunately it cannot be visited. But very beautiful from the outside. Without excessive decorations.
