Small and in need of upkeep, it tells a story of its occupants, including its value to Napoleon. Worth a visit if you've made it up the hill, but nothing big nor spectacular. Something to do.

I absolutely love walking around these type of fortifications that were there to protect the harbour and the town.

Well worth the very healthy walk up to the top of the mountain to see the castle and more important to look down over the amazing city below. Fresh air, trees and peace. All for free. Lovely.

Great monument on the hill that looks out over the town. Well worth the walk especially on a fine day.

This is a nice climb that leads to some stunning views of San Sebastian. We enjoyed it so much that we visited twice. There is also a bar on the way, which is great for a quick pit stop and a pint in the sun!

Having read the reviews of this being a read only easy walk we headed off.

First thing, couldn’t find any street signs in English pointing us in the direction or Spanish signs for that matter. Took out trusty google maps which gave us directions but in hindsight a much harder way.

We seemed to go around the long way and it was really steep and uneven paths. Not the easy walk we expected. Again not much of the way of signage more just looked for ways to head up.

Eventually made it and views were spectacular. No English in museum so no point for us besides looking at some displays.

The walk back down was certainly much clearer and easier. We stopped at the cafe for a coffee to enjoy the views.

All in all it was a great walk. More strenuous than others have mentioned for me. All comes down to fitness level really.

It’s a 20mins way through a green slightly pendant path.

Amazing views from the top.
In addition to the castle you have a super chilled bar that serves drinks and snakd.

A-ma-zing!!

Well kept infrastructure.
The forest paths to the site are ok.
Good walk.

Nothing special in the Castillo, but there is a little history to be discovered.

The castle is at the top of the hill but it is definitely worth of climbing! The building is free of charge but it has so many to offer. There is a lovely little museum inside, terrace with sunning views of the bay and the city. The walls are well-preserved. I definitely recommend the visit.

It's a bit of a climb up, but the castle / fort is in good condition and from there, you get good views of the main beach and city.
