The views are breathtaking, particularly later in the day when the sun shines from the west. We didn't care much for the amusement park.

We love going up to the mountain via the funicular . But due to COVID it’s quite a different experience and the crowds in the waiting hall at the base for the funicular up ,are very big at times and few people do keep their distance . Inside the carriage is also quite a close environment so may be best avoided in current pandemic . Otherwise it’s a highlight of San Sebastián.

The hike up isn't too bad. You just need to stay out of the way of cars, but they are going slow. The views are outstanding. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instaed of 5 is there is an amusement park (it's small), and you have to pay 2.50 per person just to get to the vantage point, even without a car or taking the funicular. It's worth it, though, because the view really is better at the very top.

We stayed for two days over the summer. The view from the hotel is wonderful. The rooms are clean, modern and relatively luxurious. The service (whilst we were there) was good. And then we left. When we arrived at our next destination later that afternoon, we discovered that we had left three jackets in the hotel. We called and they confirmed this. (It was a shame that they didn’t call us to let us know as we could have returned to collect them.) They initially said that they would take responsibility for returning the items to us at our cost. Then, when we called back they denied having said this and said they couldn’t and we would have to arrange for a courier. They gave us a link and said it was very simple to do. We did so and the third party courier company failed to pick up the item or respond to our requests for help. We called the hotel to ask for their help. They refused. Worst still when they interrupted me I asked them (politely) to stop talking over me, the male receptionist put the receiver on the counter and started a conversation with a colleague on Spanish pretending to listen to me - assuming that I couldn’t understand Spanish (I can, I am half Spanish). I had to hang up as he wasn’t listening to me. Then, when I tried to call back they refused to pick up, presumably recognising my number. I subsequently complained by email and received no reply. So we had no option other than to drive for two hours to pick up the item, and drive another two hours back to our hotel. The level of rudeness and immaturity is staggering, especially for a four-star hotel. Would we return? Never. The manager’s name is Marymy Pascual. Shame on you.

Amusement park was not open which was a bonus for us as it was not that busy, we spent a few hours sitting in the sunshine, having a few drinks and enjoying the scenic views, photographs do not do it justice it is spectacular.
