About
The most authentic and economically priced All-Inclusive type Pintxo/Tapas Tour or our City Sightseeing and Cultural Tour given in English by an Native ENGLISH SPEAKING EXPAT. Let me use my 18 years of teaching experience to help you understand this unique region and culture. I know what information is useful, from why you are not in Spain to the difference between tapas and pintxos, how and when to do things, how to pay, where to eat and so on, plus tons of other restaurants and outlying attractions. I offer the best walking tour in town. To do Pintxos right, you really need someone on the inside, someone that knows where to go on the particular day you are here and can help you get the most out of what is available. I help you explore flavors, but nothing over the top, I am very traditional in my selection of local Pintxos Bars and I pair them with local wines. I do show you the most modern bars as well. My tours are designed to give my guests a great head start on this area.

We took both the cultural walking tour plus their food tour and loved them both! We travel more than 6 months/year and take walking and food tours everywhere we go.
These tours were excellent and we highly recommend taking them both. Keith was personabe and knowledgeable. He was delightful and answered all of our questions along with filling us in on the local history of the food and the town.
The food tour was one of the best we have ever been on. The choices of food with their wine pairings was outstanding and the variety of his choices were perfect.
If you are looking for an exceptional tour company that is fact filled, fun, as well as delicious..this is the one to choose!

The tour combined the right amount of highlighting the main sights with a terrific background into the history of the region. Coffee and conversation with Keith was the perfect start to the tour. He was very knowledgeable and genuinely interested in sharing his love for the region.

Always like a walking tour and this was a very good split between learning and appreciating history vs walking eating and drinking.
Keith showed excellent knowledge and was very personable. Would definitely recommend.

We loved our walking and pintxos/drinks pairing tour with Keith. We only wish we had done this at the start of our trip!! Keith gave a fantastic explanation of Basque history, culture and gastronomy (married to a culinary family and had amazing local insights about eating in San Sebastian). He was also generous with recommendations of where to eat beyond the tourist list so definitely hit him up for places to eat like a local!

Keith was a great guide and the food choices were delicious. Pace yourself on the beverages (but found I have a new love for Txakoli). My wife and I really enjoyed the pintxos tour. It is an excellent way to kick off your time in Donostia and get the lay of the land for first-time visitors.

Highly recommend contacting Keith and booking one of his tours. We did the 2 hour food and drink tour and it was excellent. San Sebastian is filled with a myriad of bars and restaurants and all types of food and drink are available. This can be a bit daunting for the first time visitor and this is where Keith helps you make the most of your trip. He is really friendly and knows how to deliver a relaxed and very informative tour. We had great fun learning the history of food in the area and tasting lots of delicious local food and drinks. Like other reviewers I would advice booking the tour early in your visit. It will save you wandering around wondering what to order. Keith will have you all ordering and eating like a local in no time !
Thanks Keith, we really enjoyed it

Part exploration, part enlightment, part pinxtoing, part historical, all part FASCINATING AND FANTASTIC! There's no way we could have fully understand nor appreciated the wondrous world of San Sebastian's old towne nor the phenomenon of pinxtos without Keith Anderson's absolute expert insights. And all highlighted with his perfect pairings of pinxtos and wines. You'll discover what to order, how to order, where to order and even when best to order, along with understanding some of the unique language and learning the local customs -- and you'll make friends with the pinxto bar owners who remember you and treat you like family should you return to their bars (which you will) -- all thanks to Keith's relationships throughout San Sebastian. I can't stay it enough -- this must be your first activity once you arrive in Donostia-San Sebastian!

I did the combo tour with my wife and we had one other couple with us. The price we got was much less than the ones offered n our hotels. The first two hours was informative and included a nice walk around town - we got very lucky with the weather for March. It was a glorious day.
Keith doesn't profess to have a photographic memory of Spanish history, but what he does have is great information about all the sites around the town, what is good, what isn't good, and added information like the best place to go shopping, get laundry done etc. which is valuable if you're in Europe a while.
The second half was a Pintxos tour and this was superb. Five bars, five drinks and five Pintxos makes it great value. Keith is affable, fun and gives a good insight into the town. If we come back we'll definitely be doing another afternoon Pintxos tour with him.
All in all we got the full 4.5 hours with Pintxos and history tour for the same price as what our hotel was offering for only one of those selections.
I'd recommend going at the start of your stay. We went on our last full day and we have now missed some cool things that have been pointed out to us on the tour.

We have 11 days to travel between Lake Bled and Rome and would like suggestions about places to visit using public transport. We like smaller places and would like to spend about 5 days at each place. It will be the start of July.

San Sebastian is a wonderful place to spend a few days while traveling through Spain. We planned to stay 4 days but extended to 7 days. Pretty part of the world, nice beach, good food, nice people.

Where does it meet and where can you reserve. There seems to be no information about this.
Written May 23, 2018
You can reserve through their website (sorry it won't let me include exact web links) sansebastianwalkingtours. We met outside a McDonalds in the middle of the Old Town part of the city as it was close to a few of the pintxos bars we started at.

Hi, would love to do this tour in July with my girlfriends but am a vegetarian is that going to be a problem? 🤔 And also how do I book?
Written April 21, 2018
Hey, Jules — Shouldn’t be a problem — plenty of pintxos are veg only. Just tell him when you make the rez. I did it through TripAdvisor.

I will have a small dog with me during my stay in San Sebastian, does anyone know if it would be okay to take him with me on the tour? Thanks

I really don't know, but suggest you correspond by email with Keith ( who runs the tour)

We will have our 12 and 9 year-old with us in San Sebastian, and I'm wondering how it works getting the kids food at the pintxo bars? It says kids' food is not included in the price of the tour on the website. Is it easy enough to get them food and drinks?
Thanks, Georgy S.

Below you will find information on the Tours we offer.
Pintxo Tour:
A tour that targets the gastronomic culture that San Sebastian is famous for. To come to this shangri la of food and not know where or how to do the Pintxo crawl, would be a shame. I help you navigate through what some say, are more bars than in the entire country of Norway.
I take you to the best traditional bars and order their house speciality and then I pair those with a local wine or cider (non alcoholic beverages are also available). While we are walking from bar to bar, I will also show you the more cutting edge/modern pintxo bars and tell you what they offer. It is more about exploring the different flavors that come from combinations of ingredients that most people think would not work together, or breaking stereotypes of flavors.
This is all included in the price, as well as all of the other info I will be providing to your group. I pay for the pintxos and drinks, all you do is enjoy and learn how to do it, so that after we are done you feel more comfortable getting Around the Old Town and exploring the Pintxo bars yourself.
Because some kids can be picky about what they eat, kids 13 and under are free with paid adult price, (food and drink NOT included) this way you can get them what looks good to them. I will help with the ordering but parents pay for that separately.
Duration of the tour is 2-2.5 hours. If you want to book your tour online or need assistance with the reservation, please, visit our web page San Sebastian Walking Tours.
Thank you for contacting us!
