A nice landmark building in Bilbao. The building is near monumental in scale. Although it’s difficult to pin down the exact architectural style of the building, there’s lots of Beaux-Arts. At least on the outside. Inside the library, the building and reading rooms have lots of old school charm that reminds me of my university days. Also inside is lots of French architectural influences and some Art Nouveau decorations too. Worth visiting if you have time, especially to see the grand staircase and lecture room.

Lovely reading room with stupendous mostly clear windows with restrained floral motifs. A nice little moment off the streets of the old town.

We discovered this attraction accidentally while we were walking in the old town. The building looked interesting from the outside, and we were pleasantly surprised to see how beautiful the interior is when we went inside. It is well preserved and maintained. If I lived in Bilbao, I would not mind going to this library everyday, just so I could enjoy the serene and almost sacred ambience of the place. The stained glass windows are just amazing, and there are so many fine architectural details, which are a delight to the viewer. Do not miss this, when you are nearby.

If you're in the Casco Viejo, it's worth a quick visit to see the lovely interior. The stair case leads up to a beautiful stain glass window and the study room is impressive.

A gorgeous old world library, unassuming front door and easily missed. Amazing ceilings, well worth a quick stop off

Nice little library that always has spots available for the public to work, read, and study in with upward tilting desks and lighting. I would recommend it to students looking for somewhere to go for sure!

This hidden gem in the heart of the old city (Casco Viejo) was an unexpected surprise. We walked in not knowing what to expect, and were wowed by the beautiful and elegant interior.

Just go in a see how beautiful the decor is. The ceiling, the mirrors, floors etc. We spend 10 minutes there, which is all it takes.

As a librarian I was pleased our guide sneaked us in there for a visit. It's a beautiful old building, with some leaded windows worthy of a church. But the library is all modern and computerized!

This is a working library, well maintained with interesting woodwork and stained glass windows. No admission fee. A 10 minute tour will suffice. Not easy to spot, but in Old Town near river, so easy enough to find.
