Nothing special

Not much to see here. If you are walking the streets of Bilbao you will eventually come across the Plaza, especially of you are taking the metro

Large square, looks nice but there's nothing special about it. You will pass it along on the way to other attractions.

We started at the beginning of the Great Street of Diego Lopez. The streets are well marked. We had just finished our visit of the Guggenheim and wanted to enjoy a beautiful day in town. We walked the entire avenue, stopping to shop and to enjoy lunch. The most interesting thing we saw were movers taking a house full of... More

We spent half a day in Bilbao to visit the Guggenheim museum. Before the opening of the museum in the morning, we walked around the city and passed through this square. It is large and in a good location.

You must walk Bilbao to truly enjoy it. While there are plazas of greater interest this is where Gran Via transitions from the old town to the shopping and commercial district.

The Plaza Circular is located at the start of the Gran Via Don Diego Lopez de Haro. There is a monument in the middle of the plaza for Don Diego Lopez de Haro, for whom the Gran Via is named. Diego Lopez de Haro lived between 1250 and 1310. He became the Mayordomo of King Fernando IV of Castilla. He... More

This plaza is a great area in Bilbao. It's close from the Old Town, from the town hall, the city center and the Guggenheim museum. There are very nice cafés around it, so go walk around!

One of the most circular plazas I have ever seen. A triumph of circularity.

If you travel to Bilbao by train, you can not avoid to cross the place. Its a colourfull mix of all sorts of architecture, but not worthwile to visit it on purpose. The skyscraper of BBV bank is special for its cast aluminium cladding and goldplated windows, but does not fit at all. The remaining buildings are just average. Interesting... More
