Friendly, fun and extremely knowledgeable tour guide. He knows everything about the region - make sure to book at your at the start of your holiday so you get tips for what to do for the rest of the time also. He took us to the best tortilla place in Vitoria and also introduced us to the original Goxua dessert - don’t miss it!!

Thank you Bruce for your time and your review! It was really great to show you best of Vitoria in our night private tour. It is great for me also to find people like you, who have similar interests to mine: we love traveling, nature, tasting local food, but specially enjoying local sweets and desserts... Thankfully, in the Basque Country we have a few to taste... I am very proud that you have found Goxua as your favorite custard dessert so far. I also love it, and even more because it was invented in the city where I was born. Thanks and hope to see you back soon! Aitor Delgado

We spent several days with Aitor and enjoyed every one. From wandering the streets of Vitoria to a lovely day along the coast to San Sebastian. Aklways with a secret place for lunch that we would never have found on our own. He can sense what his guests would prefer to do and makes adjustments as the day goes on. Brilliant and worth every penny you spend.

Stop your search for a tour guide right now! I sincerely can’t imagine how anyone could come close to Aitor. We recently returned from an incredible trip to Spain (Barcelona – Logroño – San Sebastian) and booked three full-day tours with him. We spent two days visiting towns throughout Rioja, sampling fantastic wine, experiencing amazing architecture and soaking up the history of the region. Our third tour we spent hopping between the French Basque towns of Bayonne, Biarritz and Saint-Jean-de-Luz as well as Hondarribia, a lovely town on the border of France and Spain. Our entire experience with Aitor was top class. He provides excellent communication starting with a brief survey of what you may be interested in doing. From there he collaborates with you to design the ideal tour, providing options for review. Some tour guides would go through the motions and you’d have a nice time but Aitor takes it so much further. I felt like he optimized our tour in real time, depending on what we preferred to do at a particular time. We were never rushed and had input along the way which made for such a great time together. We were flexible to go to additional wineries or have lunch at a selection of places, for example. He even sent ideas for things to see on days we were not with him and drove out of the way multiple times so we could experience something. That is going above and beyond. Perhaps the greatest value Aitor provides though is that he seems to know everyone (and they all love him!). We got into places that we never could have planned ourselves. That is what separates a good vacation from one you will never forget. At the end of our trip we asked each other our favorite part and the unanimous response was – Aitor! He is truly our new friend in Spain and we look forward to seeing him again soon.

My husband and I did 5 tours with Aitor during our latest visit to Basque Country. He was just as excellent as on our last trip. We explored areas we had not previously seen and revisited favorites. Aitor is a delightful person. He is extremely knowledgeable about the Basque Country, both its history and its culture. He knows the best places for pinchos and for meals. He is not stuck on an agenda and will adjust on the spot to accomodate a request. He let us know each evening by e-mail what the weather would be for the next day's tour. He created a Google photo album of our trip. We have hired guides all over Europe and Aitor is at the top of the list. He's a gem.

I spent a great day sightseeing with Aitor. He picked me up in San Sebastian and took me to exactly the places I'd been dying to go to. First, he showed me around Chillida Leku and provided some really insightful commentary into the art of Chillida and gave helpful context on the life of the artist. Aitor really knows his art, and I appreciated having a guide to enhance the experience. Then we continued on to the Sanctuary of Loyola, where St. Ignatius was born, and had lunch at a super local hangout in Azpeitia I would have never found on my own. On the way back, we took the scenic route, detouring along the coast to enjoy views of the txakoli vineyards over Getaria. All in all, an amazing day with a wonderful guide. Aitor is a wealth of knowledge and has a great sense of humor, which made for an unforgettable experience during my time in the Basque Country. I would highly recommend taking a tour with him.

Thank you hellabasque! I truly enjoyed to help you to see those places on your bucket list but I even loved more the joy in your face when seeing those areas you were not expecting, like in the txakoli area. Thanks for allowing me to be part of your trip to the our land. Eskerrik asko!
