the experience of riding a funicular is always odd, particularly as you see the other car coming at you before the track splits. The view from the top is worth spending the time and money on.

What I found really interesting is that it is open until 10pm in the evening and we actually went up when it was already dark outside to see Bilbao from up high with its lights. I have to say I was very disappointed that the Guggenheim is not lighted better at night, it would be amazing to see the structure... More

95 cents each way seemed a good price to rise above the city. Great views from the top, an area to walk round and a great restaurant to sit in the sun and have a drink.

It was an easy and cheap trip to the top. The views were excellent, but there was little else to do at the top although local families had picnics, etc.

Takes you to the top of a hill overlooking the city. The view is well worth the trip. However, one can reach the same location by car so this is only a 'must' for those without cars.

Going up the cable car was great. You get to see a bit of the outskirts of the city and it has absolutely amazing views. I would try to go on a clear day as the views will be better. The ride up is about five minutes and the cable car comes every 10 minutes, so it's not a huge... More

It's a must for a general view of the city from Artxanda mountain. You can spot the different landmarks (Guggenheim, Isozaki and Iberdrola towers,...) from here.

Fun trip up to the top via the Funicular. Easy to find and cheap tickets too. Great views over Bilba.

The funicular is accessed in a neighborhood that is fairly close to the zubi zurri bridge. The square at the base is bustilng with people. There are a few trips per hour, with the fare being paid each way. At the top there is a lovely park with fantastic views of the city. There is a memorial to some civil... More

We went up in the funny little funicular, and the view from the top was impressive though the whole valley was partially cloaked in mist, lovely place for a picnic
