Every time we visit Gijón we visit this little shop. They have cheeses from all over Europe and of course a large variety of Asturian and other Spanish cheeses as well. Don't waste your money on key fobs and tshirts- buy edible souvenirs instead.

Recently on a cruise to Gijon, had looked up this shop prior to sailing, made it a point to get to the shop, easy walk from where the shuttle let us off. Unbelievable cheeses and outrageously low prices. Wonderfully cordial and helpful couple manage the shop. The vacuum packed our purchases and we brought them home on the 15 day cruise and they are in great shape. We were allowed to sample a variety of cheeses and they had great insight into the making process and ingredients. A absolute must if ever in Gijon, which is a remarkable city.

La Queseria provides a really stunning selection of local cheeses, particularly from the region Asturias. The service is extremely friendly. One can taste each and every cheese prior to ordering it. And, for travellers, the cheese can be packed in vacuum plastic bags to make it more durable. It is a place to be for all cheese connoisseurs.

We gave a box of cheese to my husband, with added gildas and anchovies, to enjoy with the children and it was great. It was not the first time, nor will it be the last, they are friendly and attentive to details. I highly recommend them.
