Surprised by the facility and it surroundings. Safe to walk around the Clift area and the reception center is very informatively

Even in dense fog it's impressive
Oct 2016 • Couples
I had driven almost to the door, when at last we saw the lighthouse. The weather was warm at the end of October this year so, at the sea, the fog was really dense. We'd looked forward to wonderful sea views but that was not to be. What we experienced was an incredible walk along the cliff top on the wooden pathway, with the sound of waves crashing far below but hidden in the swirling mist. We talked about how this is probably as typical of the Bay of Biscay coast, as would have been a clear sunny day. The weather made sense of the row of fog horns as well as the light-house. We were very happy to have had this experience!

Amazing view

If you find yourself wandering nearby, pay a visit to these cliffs.
It is the northern point of Asturias and you can enjoy the view of all the coast.

Great view
May 2016 • Couples
People in our hotel told us about this place and we decided to visit. It is a wonderful place especially in the sun. The view along the coast and out to sea is great. The fauna and flora are also beautiful. Great place to visit.

Most nothern point Asturias
Sep 2014 • Couples
This is the most nothern point of Asturias. You can reach it from Gijon. It is a rather long road via Aviles. You get a large parking and casn go by footh about 200 mtrs to the rough clifs. You can read information about flora and fauna. There is also a lighthouse. There can be a lot of wind. Also a cafe here. Nice point to visit.

Great hiking
Aug 2012 • Friends
And even better climbing if you are prepared.

The view is spectacular. Lots of birds and the occasional fishing vessel just off the point offer great photo opportunities.

The northernmost point of Asturias
Dec 2012 • Family
Having seen the nice beach in Gijon I was quite surprised about the cliffs and their roughness in Cabo Peñas.
The start getting point of this spot is the lighthouse that you can see from far. It is still on duty. There is a big parking and also a restaurant which looks a bit used from the outside. So we didn't go in...
From there you can walk on a wooden path along the cliffside and you'll have impressive views down to the foaming noisy water and also very far in case you are lucky enough to have clear weather. Really impressive and great for pictures.
Important : once the wooden path ends....KEEP GOING.....A bit farer you even have the chance to go out on top of a very impressive rock, easy to access but left and right goes sharp down for 70 meters or more. Not recommended for hight sensitive people.
Summarizing, this is a nice opportunity to spent 2 hours in an impressive piece of landscape, easy to go (45 mins to drive from Oviedo) and on the way there you also pass some beaches which might be a good complement in summer...
Would be a five if the restaurant would be more inviting....
