The beauty and the way they succeeded to preserve all these flamish tapestries is incredible. In principle you have to go there for several hours to really appreciate the works So look at the opening times. In Spain they love to close churches and musea many hours during day time.

Total surprise -- the museum's collection in stunning and presented logically and in multiple languages, including English. Saw this as part of our visit to La Seo and we are so glad we did. A must see.

We are not fans of tapestry but the museum was recommended..to get the Museum you enter through the cathedral Seo. This was one of the most astonishing cathedrals I had seen- it almost beats Toledo. Soaring spaces, sheer columns and a genuine sense of difference leads to you to the entrance to the Museum. The Tapestries were excellent and well displayed each carrying their own stories...lovely.

Museo de Tapices y capitular de la Seo is a tapestry museum located inside La Seo del Salvador Cathedral, very close to El Pilar Cathedral, in the center of Zaragoza, the main city in Aragon Region. It is a very interesting museum, where you can see some liturgic objects and especially some tapestries, which are very nice. For me, it is the best part of the exposition.

As a rule I am rather bored by tapestries but these are quite exceptional. They show scenes from life, starting shortly after 1400. Colours, designs, movement are all remarkable. It's like looking at a film made 600 years ago. Highly recommended.

The Medieval tapestry museum is housed in the Chapter House within La Seo del Salvador on Plaza La Seo. Entry to the tapestries is included in the fee to visit the Cathedral: four euros.
The collection of 63 tapestries is considered of historical importance in Spain, designed and created in the 15th and 16th centuries, they are hung in three large exhibition rooms. The collection is definitely worth visiting to see the intricate weaving and designs, fine threads, stunning colours. The theme of the tapestries range from religious, mythological, historical and moral.
Over 4.9 Million Euros has been spent on the museum and the tapestries, of which 21 tapestries have been restored. Some of the tapestries hanging are in poor condition, so hopefully money raised from entrance fees can go towards preserving these precious items. To help preserve the tapestries they are hung in dimly light rooms, in fact one room at the time of our visit was in darkness and unfortunately was not open for viewing. No photography is allowed.
The first time I saw tapestries from medieval times at Musee de Moyen Age in Paris I was captivated by the designs and their skills, this collection is well worth a visit.

The collection is the gem of the Spanish historical heritage and it is one of the most important collections of tapestries in the world due to its age and rarity They belong to 15-th and 16-th centuries.

this museum contains the most spectacular tapestries I've ever seen - far exceeding those in the Musee de Cluny in Paris. The workmanship is mindboggling and the artistry is wonderful. Each face has so many individual expressions, so much subtlty it is hard to imagine they are delivered with needlework. Please don't miss seeing these wonderful works of art.

A wonderful exhibition of superb, well'preserved, vividly colored and historically significant tapestries are housed upstairs in La Seo Cathedral´s Museo de Tapices. Viewing these was a highlight of the cathedral visit. Unfortunately, photographs were not allowed and there was no souvenir book featuring the collection. However, there are detailed explanations of the tapestries on display in Spanish and English on site.

This small but exquisite museum does not have many rooms but the medieval tapestries are stunning, high quality and well kept with amazing colours and lovely impressions of medieval art and life. Entry comes with a visit of the Cathedral which is equally worth seeing. Unfortunately the whole thing closes in the aftrernoon, like so many places in Zaragoza, so plan your visit in the morning.
