A main crossing to Isla de la Cartuja, similar to numerous other projects, it was propelled by Expo ’92.

It is a most impressive edifice.

At either end a major triangular structure anchors the vertical spine that extends across it. From this the staying cables support the main body.

We stumbled upon Puente de la Barqueta while walking down the road and stopped for a selfie. It is a very cleverly designed bridge. It is not particularly great but it is nevertheless interesting and a great engineering feat. Apparently it was constructed in time for the 1992 Expo in Seville. Certainly worth a look if you happen to be in the vicinity.

This is one of the better bridges in Seville. It looks really nice if you face it or if you are underneath on a airplane.

This modern bridge was opened in 1992 for Expo 92.

We visited the bridge on the HOHO bus. This is a deceptive bridge, it looks nice but it is yet beguiling and more complex in its design.

Good place to watch the rowers on the river but it’s a normal traffic bridge and very busy. Ok to walk across but not a place to stop if driving.

When it was built, for the 1992 exposition, it was certainly a interesting "modern" bridge. Now, it is simply a bridge, the kind you find everywhere. It is also a bridge that, as a tourist, you will most possibly not use at all.

We were on a rather uninspiring river cruise in Seville with little to see but this bridge really stood out because of its graceful stylish lines.
