This is a nice walking trip through Sevilla. Both locals and foreigners will enjoy learning about the history of the city, from the ancient Roman origins until the Americas times. There are some key spots where you'll wear the glasses to see some short films, some fact cards, and a couple virtual reconstructions. If you like learning about the history of old cities like Sevilla, you'll definitely like this your. I misses a bit more virtual reconstructions, though.

This was an excellent way to engage with the interesting past of Seville. The staff were really helpful and informative and the technology was utilised in a brilliant way. I would highly recommend doing this tour if you want to get an insight into Seville's history in a fun and eye-opening way.

Loved it! Totally recommend it! The tour guide answered every question that we could think of. I think its best to do this early in the morning, to avoid crowds. You get the most interesting perspctive by using the equiptment provided. It still has some glitches, and the technology is not perfect but still this is the best walking tour I've ever been on. You walk thru the city and stop at specific points, the Cathedral, Alcazar and City Hall, are a few of the sites. Not only do you see the excitement of what Sevilla has become and the history, but you get a hint of the future, in our youthful and inspiring tour guide. This tour starts underneath the Metropol.

Past View is just a few amateurish videos displayed on glasses using an ipod. We were taken to the top of the Parasol building to see the view of Sevilla, Then we put on the glasses and looked at worthless historical videos for a few minutes. No integration between the videos and what we could see with our bare eyes. My teenage son said: "I sure hope you didn't pay too much for this -- that was really bad." We did get a good laugh about it, however, and it will be remembered as one of those bad vacation experiences.

Thank you very much for giving us your opnion , we will have it in mind . We regret that the experience was not satisfactory to you. I have to tell you that we have renewed our devices. Nowadays we are using a new smartglasses that improves the video quality , it has motion sensor ,it improves Augmented Reality ... We hope that, in your next visit to Sevilla, you trust us again and we could change your opinion. Despite the various awards received, our greatest award is a satisfied customer. Kind regards Past View

My family and I had high expectations after hearing about this tour in the NYT. However, we were unimpressed by the technology, efficiency of the tour in the beginning (start tour time was scheduled for 11, took about 15 minutes to get everyone set up), and especially the juvenile/sorry telling like videos. While the tour guide was knowledgeable, the videos could have shared more general history about the region rather than illustrating stories about for example, a peasant writing a love letter to a crush. The 360 view was also not that interesting considering that they are shown right after we watched a video of that view for a few minutes. For a more educational and interactive experience, I’d recommend a traditional walking tour.

Beautiful, stunning. A shame that on the information panels (which are in Spanish and English) the English is written in a very light color which is very difficult to read, sometimes totally faded and sometimes in very small font.
Could be improved, making the whole experience so much better.

We booked a tour in english, but our guide introduced her by saying she doesn't speak english well. Wonder why it was decided that she does the tour. As it turned out, she spoke excellent english, and guided us through town very friendly.

The use of the "smart glasses" doesn't make any sense. They're pretty old models, without any smarts except simple orientation sensors. They're uncomfortable and heavy while walking around, and all the cables hanging around are annoying. It is clear, that the glasses are just used to attract people to the tour. Not actually delivering something that uses smarts of such glasses is at least misleading. In the same way is what's called VR just simple panoramas.

The content shown on the glasses has good visual quality and is informative. But I definitely would have preferred to see it on a big screen of a smartphone instead of the small screen of the glasses.

Also, I learned much more about Sevilla during the two free tours I participated in. Because of this, and because of being misled, I don't recommend this tour, but one of the so called free tours instead.

Good morning Michael, Thank you very much for your comments. At Past View Experience we try our best for our customers to enjoy our tour, and we take all comments on a constructive way to improve our service. Replying your review: Language: The assistant that guided you is bilingual in French, as she is not in English she always introduces herself saying her English is not so well, but, as you mentioned, her level is quite good, thank you! Devices and smart glasses: We apologize that your expectations with the last version on smart glasses in the market was higher. Smart glasses are semi transparent because customers are in the city, not a closed area so customers can enjoy the heritage they are visiting. We are sorry that you would prefer a big screen of a smartphone as pictures we are sharing in all the platforms and channels are our smart glasses. Most of our customers consider more important images of the heritage in different moments of the history than the explication. Of course it depends on the own customer what they prefer, but we are bounded to explain that not all customers are completely satisfied with the usual tour when they have the option to see how the heritage was. We would like to invite you to send us any mail is you consider you would like to add something else to your review. Just let us know and we will provide a mail contact. Best regards and we wish you Merry Christmas,

I booked this tour not knowing what to expect and it was great! My guides were friendly and gave me lots of interesting facts as we walked around Seville. The glasses are fab! Very clever and clear, they transport you back in time so you feel you are with them and the added audio brings it alive. Definitely recommend this

If the Parasol wasn't unique enough already, Past View adds another layer on top. There are two options available, one just from the top of the Parasol and one as a walking tour down to the Torre del Oro. We opted for the former as we'd just done a lot of walking and were a bit tired. We were given the headsets to wear and taken to the top of the Parasol, included in the price of the Past View. Our guide spoke English and was very friendly and helpful. The glasses then played a video showing the various sightseeing spots around Seville, saying a little bit about each one. The video is shown in the centre of your vision at a reasonable size that you can still see the view of the real world around it. I found it best to tilt my head up slightly so that the video was in the sky and I could look down slightly to see the city. It's a great way to see the layout of the city and get a quick summary of each tourist spot. Watching this floating video in the sky from the top of the parasol gave a very interesting feeling of modern technology in an old city.

That said, there is room for improvement. Unfortunately the glasses are just playing a video and don't detect which way you're facing or do any kind of headtracking. However, the video still shows which way to face to see each spot and it's useful to help figure out where things are. For the second and third videos, one promotional video for Expo92 and the actual Past View one about the history of the city, there was no need to face any direction, they were just a standard informative videos like one you may find in a museum and so I didn't feel they took advantage of the opportunities the glasses were offering. It could have been good if the Past View video had been direct comparison views from the Parasol of what the city looked like in the past. This experience could also be improved with some of the recent new technologies in VR and will soon seem dated.

I recommend checking what is a good time to go, we turned up around 4-5pm and were able to go immediately, however there was then no-one at the desk because the tour guide came with us and the tour lasts around 40 minutes. When passing later around 6-7pm we saw the desk was empty again.

Also, there's not a great amount of publicity for what Past View is around the Parasol, other than the desk with the logo at the entrance, so when you turn up on the top of the Parasol wearing the rather bulky sunglasses headset with a few wires going to a pouch, you do get a few puzzled looks from the other tourists who may not have looked into what Past View is at all or may have thought Past View is actually related to the ruins beneath the Parasol. I didn't mind the looks and stares too much though, especially as the guide was present with us and also has the kit to make sure everything is working properly.
