To be done with the Plaza de Espana
Designed at the same time as the Plaza de Espana, for the same Expo, it is a place where families and friends meet on the week ends. It has a large number of various trees and plants and lots of ducks and other fowls. A great walk around

Take a breather from the busy city
The Maria Luisa park faces the Plaza de España and was built at the same time. The park stretches along the Guadalquivir river and scattered amongst the vegetation are many important monuments including the famous statue of Miguel de Cervantes. Historical structures such as the Mudéjar Pavillion are also located in the gardens. Birds sing amongst the treetops, children play amongst the fountains and life just stands still for a little while on a sunny Sunday Afternoon.

    Certainly has to be visited
The Maria Luisa park is a really large and beautiful park just back from the river in Seville. It has beautiful plants, walkways, ponds with bridges and lots of birds. A really beautiful building called Plaza de Espana is within the park. It is such a really impressive and important building. You will not be disappointed.

Serene park next to Plaza Espana
Marie Lucia park is right next to Plaza Espana. It's a nice serene park, where one can spend some "me" time enjoying the nature. We didn't spend much time here and exited in a few minutes.

    Beautiful park
A large and beautiful garden that is open 8am-10pm and is a lovely place to stroll through - some parts are busy and some parts are very quiet and peaceful. Beautiful planting, lovely buildings, fountains and birds - the most famous and the busiest area is the Plaza de Espana. Definitely worth taking time to visit and lots of shade if it's a hot day.

    Pleasant Enough Park
Parque de Maria Luisa is a nice city park to visit and stroll but it is just about an average city park. The main attraction is at one end of the park - Plaza de España. A pleasant place to walk through with lots of shade for those very hot days.

    Cool Place
South of the city is an area dominated by the extensive leafy Parque de Maria Luisa. The park runs alongside the river with the Plaza de Espana at it's center with exotic palm trees, orange trees, elms and Mediterranean Pines. The landscaping features bright flower beds, shady avenues, Moorish-style fountains decorated with colorful ceramic tiles and ornamental pools of water. It is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing walk and to sit on a bench on a hot day. Visit recommended.

Nice park, shame about the working horses.
This is a lovely place to have a leisurely walk around with plenty of architecture to admire and well tended gardens. The cafe on the southern corner was nice to stop for a cold beer on what was a very hot day. Seeing the horses sweating in the heat wasn't nice and thankfully very few people were hiring them. Given the month of August is typically in the 40's they should be left at the paddock during this period as the Seville climate allows the vendors plenty of opportunity to trade for the rest of the year.

    Wonderful green space
We spend hours today, Sunday just wandering this special park. After the hectic prescheduled days of visiting the Alcazar and the Seville Cathedral, it was was nice to just walk around with many hundreds of others enjoying the numerous fountains and green space. There are bathrooms available but they are 1 euro each to keep them clean so just make sure you save some coins. No one really was in a rush and we did rent a row boat at Plaza de Espana for 6 euros for 35 minutes of upper body exercising. Would take the time to smell the proverbial roses and just relax during your busy vacation. Enjoy.

Grounds were left to the city of Seville by Maria Luisa, Duchess of Montpensier (hence the park name!) and was part of the Expo 29 setting around Plaza de Espana. Visited in January and to be honest everything was looking rather sparse and unkempt (although some of the formal areas were being replanted). A number of statues are dotted around but there’s no information as to who they are or what they relate to. Information board maps are tired and in need of replacement. Horse and carriage rides are available from the plaza.

Not everyone may realize but as dusk falls you can find two really exciting species in the park. Greater Noctule is the largest bat in Europe and confined to Southenr Spain. Scops Owl is more widespread but it only turns up in the UK as a vagrant

A nice calm afternoon without many other tourists here. The beautiful building pictures sets the stage for a gentle quiet park with a history you can go deep into. A good place to go if you have been to the Esplanade de Espanol as it is nearby and a lovely walk between the two.

After visiting Plaza d'Espana we wandered through the park towards Plaza America. Our hotel concierge had given us a map of the park showing the main points of interest which was very useful. We stopped at the cafe in Plaza America, waiter service, for a snack and to use the toilets before wondering back along a different route through the park. We especially liked the waterfall and the bird island and lake. This would be a very pleasant escape from the heat in the summer as there are lots of shady areas.

A nice quiet park centrally located in Sevilla next to the Plaza de Espana. Lots of trees and fountains. The only negative is that the park is surrounded by a tall black metal fence and closer to the Guadalquivir river there is NO way out except back towards Plaza de Espana OR through the restaurant on the far side. We wanted to get to the river and almost gave up until we came upon the restaurant. Was told it had to do with keeping a bad element out of the park at night ... but still ... was a bit ridiculous!

Parque de Maria Luisa is the green heart of Seville. It's a place to go and have some relaxation and a bit of fun. We visited on the day we went to Plaza de Espana which is in the same park. The park is full of history as it used to be part of a nearby palace. It's great for families with children in particular, but anyone really would enjoy a bit of time there.

Such a gorgeous park with so much to see and do. We went in November when it was drizzling with rain but it didn't take away from how beautiful the park is with its lovely tiled seats, trees and flowers, fountains, pavilions, monuments/statues and museums. The Plaza Espana is one of the many sights you won't want to miss if visiting Seville. I promise at least half a day in any weather will be well worth it. We will definitely be visiting again when we return to take in more of its beauty.
