This is a great place to go to see the Moorish influence on Spain. I would love to see them add photo books with overlays that give a visitor a vision of what it looked like in its glory.

This is an architectural gem that is an amazing combination of Moorish architecture and Christian architectural adaptation. We learned that in Spain it is wise to book entry online to all these places to avoid standing in the queue for tickets (absolutely essential for the Alhambra in Granada) and so we were standing in line for about an hour at... Visit the UNESCO Real Alcazar and see the room that Queen Isabel debriefed Christopher Columbus after his New World discoveries... As the advertisement reads 'The Alcázar feels like an Arabian Nights fairy-tale: finely etched domes, lacy arcades, keyhole arches, and comfy courtyards.' It's now one of my favourite buildings in the world.

This is the place to visit when visiting Seville! Booking tickets in advance is necessary, especially spring/summer season because the queue was extremely long. Also do not rush there-couple of hours in there goes very quickly.

Despite the Alcazar's beauty, I found our visit to be a rather disappointing experience. There were long lines and chaos at the front entrance and despite having reserved our ticket, we still had to join a large 'reservation' line, although it took us 10 minutes to figure this out amongst the chaos (even though we had to queue, you MUST... It would be better to book a visit as we did queue for half an hour but worth every minute. It is a wonder of a building with plenty of rich architecture and ceramics. The gardens are also rich in design and beautiful laid out. Allow 2-3 hours for your visit and you will be richly rewarded.

If you have visited the Alhambra and the Mesquita then the Alcazar comes in a poor third place. If not, then you will be amazed at what they achieved so many years ago. The gardens are beautiful, even in the pouring rain! We booked online after reading the reviews. One point to note is that when the email arrived we... More

This was an unexpected brilliant visit. We were in the area to visit the Alhambra in Grenada, and this was every bit as good, in fact the gardens are better and more historic.

This is a must do in Seville. Please go online to pre book entry to avoid very lengthy queue. We found it busy inside but the gardens were quite tranquil.

Don't miss the underground swimming pool, amazing. We didn't go round the extensive gardens, this could be a good half a day
