This is a palace still in use today (the oldest palace still in use in Europe. It was built on the sight of a 10th century Moorish palace. When it was rebuilt in the 14th century for Christian King Pedro 1, he had it built for a Christian king but built in Moorish style by Moorish builders. The blend of... More

What a great place- filled with one masterpiece after another. It perfectly blends nature with architecture as it's filled with pools and gardens. Go in the 2nd half of the day when it's cooler and less crowded.

Beautiful inside and out, but the gardens were my favourite. Get a plan at the front desk and follow it as the place itself gets really confusing as all areas are connected somehow - there's no effort to direct the visit. Well worth a visit!

If you like Architecture, Gardens, Decorative ornament then the Real Alcazar is a must see. It's crowded, at least it was in mid October with a day of pouring rain, but they only let so many people into the palace at one time, so unless you ran into a large tour group it wasn't too bad at all. The architecture... More

This is a very special place. The palace is lovely but the ground are incredible. It was a wonderful place to spend a few hours strolling through the extensive gardens and taking lots of pictures.

Worth seeing. Amazing ceilings and architecture great for all ages and even teenage boys. Jewish quarter was also close by for lunch afterwards.

Visited for about three hours just wandering from room to room and through the gardens. Most of the building has been well preserved and there is lots to see. On site maps and guidance could be better (we got lost a lot) but for 9 euros each, it was fantastic.

I didn't spend very much time here as I had gone with a tour group on a very tight and rushed schedule. Also we had arrived very late and hence only had about half an hour. It was still a very worthwile visit as the architecture of the building is so beautiful and generally well preserved. There are informational boards... More

One of the best sites to see anywhere! Everywhere you turn there is design, beauty and rich history. Large castle with beautiful gardens.

I had very little time to explore this beautiful, serene place... as I had to catch the walking tour at 11 Am... so I made sure to get in by the first hour. But this did not do justice to the beautiful place - especially the gardens are truly worth a long day trip here. There are themed gardens and... More
