Easter was late this year so the festival was going on during our visit. This beautiful little town was alive with excitement, festive costumes and beautiful horse-drawn carriages . In addition, Sevilla has many quaint eateries and tiny stores with lots of souvenirs. We thoroughly enjoyed our day exploring both the city and museums.

If you are lucky enough to be in Seville during La Feria, do not miss it! As other reviewers have said, the pageantry and the excitement of the Spanish people is amazing! We stood and watched the horses, the riders, the carriages with young and old in them, the people, young and old as well, dressed in their finest Spanish styles. We were in awe of this and were saying to each other that there is nothing in the US that compare to this. We absolutely loved it!!! Please go if you can!

We didn't go to the Feria site for the first few days, as we thought the crowds might be too much, but when we did go, it was quite an experience. The first thing you need to know is that the casetas, large and small, are private, and generally have security. What you are there for is to watch Seville at play. There is an enormous fairground and various refreshment stalls but the sight of the many ladies in traditional (flamenco) dresses, the carriages, riders in slightly Mexican-style attire, the exuberance have to be seen to be believed. Even if you don't go to the Feria as such there are many other things going on in and around Seville at this time.

We happened to be in Seville on the day the Feria opened. It is absolutely amazing to experience, the best event I have ever had the pleasure of seeing

We noticed more and more ladies in their stunning dresses and gentlemen dressed to match all heading in the same direction, so we followed them through the streets of Seville to the other side of the river where there seems to be an area dedicated to the Feria on Calle Antonio Bienvenida. You can't miss it, just follow the people. Absolutely every person in Seville was making their way down to there.

The most amazing sight awaited us. There were so many people, carriages and horses, we just stood and stared. It was spectacular to see. It cost us nothing to go into the area to look, but obviously the caseta's need to be booked in advance. We were definitely not dressed for the occasion, but no one seemed to mind.

It was wonderful to see families enjoying this spectacular event together. It was the highlight of my holiday in Spain. We stood and stared for about 2 hours then headed on off to our car before it got dark. I LOVE my photos of the beautiful people. I hope they don't mind that I shared them.

We were lucky enough to book our visit , not knowing this spectacular event was on.Went at about 3.00 pm , just as parade was staring . What a wonderful thing to see. The colours , costumes and the beautifully turned out horses. The marquees are open at this time, so was great to look in.Even early on it was getting busy. Was tempted to go back in evening, but was told it gets very busy and quite raucous.
Will never forget the experience

We didnt know the Feria was on when we booked our trip but went down about 7 o’clock one evening and were amazed to see all the beautiful Spanish dresses and men all looking smart. We were lucky that they were all processing with the horses and carriages at that time. On the way out we were watching some dancing in a Caseta and were invited in for a drink which made our evening. A must see if your there. Didn’t watch the bull fighting though.

Enchanting. Very harmonious and clean.
Typical is the barrio de Santa Cruz and the Triana neighborhood.
You are enchanted when you visit the Cathedral both inside and outside.
