Lovely spot, full of atmosphere! Old style theatre (not a casino) in its own grounds, swaying palms, beautiful conservatory!

Coming from the Plaza de Espana and Parque de Maria Luisa, we found this charming unknown building. Because we didn’t any information about it, with a sudden idea, standing in front of it, I signed into Facebook. Hey presto, there was my location. Casino de la Exposition. Having a peek through the window, we could see the inside is even more beautiful, but ultimately abandoned. What a pity. It would be good to be able to get inside and look around a bit.

While heading to see the Plaza de Espana, I walked by this empty building. Its architecture is very striking and beautiful. Peering through the dusty windows, I wished it was open to explore, but by the looks of it has been abandoned for a number of years. It is not in disrepair though and is well worth visiting for a few minutes. The domed ceiling is beautifully painted and tiled I believe.

At the time of my visit, it looked as though an exhibition had been held at point, as there were empty temporary gallery-style walls scattered about. I'm not sure how to find out when something is happening, but you might get lucky!

As a part of the American Exposition in the 1920's, this casino was built at the same Plaza de Espana and other pavilions for the North and South American countries. Like Plaza de Espana, it is a beautiful building but according to our tour guy it is vacant and unused with a homeless problem. It would be cool if someone found a use for it.
