I was given a reference from my old college roommate who had used Al-Andalus Experience. I had contacted them via WhatsApp and got a very immediate reply. We went back and forth trying to gauge what kind of services I would need since I went with my wife and two teenagers. Ahmed was kind enough to tell me what to do and in the end we decided to use their service for a professional guide in the Alhambra palace. It was a blessing to have been with Carlos/Hisham. We went thru every corner of the complex (Nasrid Palace, General Life etc). We spent over three hours discovering the meaning behind everything, he gave a lesson in history, science, and even the derivation of words from Arabic into Spanish etc. If you love history, this will be a solid investment. I’d highly recommend contacting Al-Andalus Experience before you travel

Ahmed is extremely knowledgable, helpful and well-connected. Carlos whom he connected us with and who gave us the tour of the Alhambra was spectacular.
Esp if you're a Muslim, you simply cannot get this info from the standard tour guides.

Grateful to have engaged this tour operator. We have been getting the islamic historic perspective of the attractions we visited. We were offered stops to sample halaal cuisine from various restaurants (indians, moroccons, thais, etc). Thanks. Highly commended.

Amazing ... No other word can describe the grandeur of the mosque. It was disappointing to see the sign that advises people that only Christian prayer is allowed. It's a bit of a shame; Christians can pray at the Aya Sophia in Istanbul.

Great personable guide.
Who made sure all four of us were engaged, including our teens.
Great historical perspective of city without making it too dry.
Good pace for the walk, hard to believe we circled the whole entire old city.
Gave us some great refrences to follow up again.
Great communication.
Will plan on using this company agian soon.

I have read hundreds of reviews for years on TripAdvisor but have never written a review. Well, after having such a wonderful experience with this agency, I had to finally write one! From my initial email contact until my family’s departure from Spain, every detail was handled flawlessly. Our focus was Andalusia as well as Madrid and Barcelona. The planning was perfect giving us ample time to see the sites, enjoy delicious local delicacies, go souvenir shopping, and even siesta time to get rid of our jet lag! It was an immersive 360 experience for the mind, body, and soul.
Our guide, Ahmad Zaruq Summers, is an institution in himself! He picked us up from the airport and drove us to all the amazing sites while explaining the importance and history of each. It is truly unfathomable the amount of history he knows! There are so many years and dynasties and people. Everything was explained so well that you would actually absorb the history and culture of each city. He was always patient with our never-ending questions and described the sites in a calm manner. There was enough time for taking pictures, and he even showed us many photography tricks. We also visited several types of artisans painstakingly honing and reviving the art of Al-Andalus.
There are so many iconic sites we saw on our tour that I cannot list them all, but the most memorable is definitely The Alhambra. I have heard and read so many stories about it, and, of course, I thought it could not be that great. When we went inside with our amazing guide, Alba, we were just stunned! There are not enough words to describe this place. It is beyond anything you have ever seen! The more you look at the intricate details, the more you appreciate the hundreds of artisans who had to toil for this labor of love. Truly breathtaking! However, not everyone gets admission to the Alhambra, tickets may sell out, or guides have maximum group numbers. We were blessed to have Ahmad Zaruq book our tickets and get such a wonderful private guide for us. Mezquita Mayor de Granada is also a wonderful place to get stunning views of the Alhambra at night or any time of day.
The restaurants we went to were mind-blowing! The food was so delicious that you wish you were never full (so you could eat more)! Halal meals were taken care of so we never had to worry. The food will take your taste buds on an epic ride! Ahmad Zaruq also explained the importance of olive oil in Spain. Interestingly enough, almost every restaurant table has a bottle of olive oil for you to dine with.
Our departure from Spain was bittersweet. This is a special place you definitely want to visit again and again, not to just cross off the bucket-list. Over the course of our trip, Ahmad Zaruq Summers became like a family member showing us around Spain. I am certain there are few, if any, guides who could match his level of care and dedication (even dining with our family until the late hours of the night). Besides being our guide, I am sure he is also a photographer, gastronome, hiker, espresso aficionado, and could be a professor as well. His English was impeccable (complete with a British accent), but what distinguishes him is that he is a Muslim who grew up in Spain and could give insights that others could not. We cannot wait to come back to Spain with Al-Andalus Experience!

We used Spain Day Tour for this excursion. We were picked up from our cruise ship Malaga port and loaded onto an air-conditioned motor coach with plenty of room for the drive to Granada. During the ride to Granada - we had a fantastic tour guide that gave us very interesting facts, tales, stories, and he pointed out various points of interest as well. Once we arrived in Granada our bus group was split up into small groups with an English speaking guide. We have been to Granada before but the guides with Spain Day Tour made this day journey even more informative and fun. Our Alhambra Palaces guided tour was fantastic. We learned so many new facts and aspects to the history of Alhambra that we did not know from our previous visits. We were taken to downtown Granada for lunch on our own. After lunch we loaded back onto our motor coach for the ride back to Malaga. I would highly recommend Spain Day Tours for your Spain excursions. They take very good care of you!
