Construction of this Basilica was originally commenced in 1617 under the direction of Juan Luís Ortega. The front façade is flanked by two tall towers that incorporate small chapels that are cover by glazed tiles. The views of the interior are most impressive, take an opportunity to see inside if you can.

The Cathedral opened (unusually for Spain!) on time at 4pm on a Sunday afternoon. We had waited in the heat of an August afternoon and it was well worth it. The combination of white and gold decoration is beautiful but not overpowering. The cathedral is quite unusual in layout and styles, having had a couple of architects during the building.... More

What an enormous, ornate cathedral! I have never experienced anything quite like it! Following the dubious lead of other visitors, I admit to flouting the "no photos inside" rule. No flash and phone on silent mode though - this is a working place of worship and there were people paying their private respects and offering their private devotions. Respect is... More

One of the most "over the top" baroque churches I have ever seen. This church is magnificent. I was going to say simply magnificent, but there is nothing simple about it. A definite must visit

There are no word for this. If you have faith, as my partner does, it will move you to tears... If you don't,like myself, the opulence will render you speechless

This basilica is easy to miss. On a night stroll along with the locals on Carrera de la Virgen we happened to come upon this church during services. Spanish baroque stye churches never cease to amaze me with their over-the-top ornamentation and design. Go if you can.

This is a church that is easy to miss as it doesn't look very grand from the outside - but the inside is gorgeous!!! We are very glad that we saw this!!!

The architecture is of baroque style. It is a small church located in Albaycin. It is worth seeing it.

I had the best time in here. The buildings are so wonderful to visit here. The exterior is nice but the interior is stunning.
