Don't be put off by it's quite plain exterior, inside is the most draw droppingly beautiful church. It's got to be seen. We went on a Tuesday morning around 10.30 and there was a very well attended mass on. It was fantastic to witness this.

The Basilica de Nuestra Señora de las Angustias is one of the churches most popular with the local populace and many people go there because they are devoted to the Virgin Mary. This church is very close to the Vincci Hotel, where we usually stay.

The whole interior is wonderful. There is little I can say as it would not do justice to the Basilica. One had to experience it for ones self.

What a surprise. We were just looking for a handy place for Sunday church and the Basilica de Nuestra was just around the corner from our hotel. On a really quiet street and rather plain looking on the outside but once you enter surprise. The interior like so many of the great Spanish churches is ornate with a great main... More

This cathedral was really beautiful. Judging from the other reviews, I missed some significant sites without realizing it. I should have done TA before I went. I was particularly impressed with the organs which seemed incredible as I recall. Unfortunately, I lost track of time and did not get a chance to do any shopping at the end and felt... More

Construction of this Basilica was originally commenced in 1617 under the direction of Juan Luís Ortega. The front façade is flanked by two tall towers that incorporate small chapels that are cover by glazed tiles. The views of the interior are most impressive, take an opportunity to see inside if you can.

I've visited many of Europe's major Cathedrals now, and this one is right up there. I found the memorial to priests murdered by Marxists particularly moving, and the altar is beautiful.
