About
We are a FLAMENCO SHOW CAVE in Granada located in the picturesque district of Sacromonte and it is considered one of the main tourist attractiveness in our city. Today fifty years after its founding we continue organizing every night the gypsy tipycal folklore of Sacromonte masterfully offered by the descendents of María La Canastera responsible for maintaining the tradition that she left .

We experienced 2 cave flamenco shows. Yes, this one has more performers, but we enjoyed the one that was 10 euros less down the hill much better. I felt like a couple of the performers here just did not have the same passion. A drink is included with price of admission. We ordered vino blanco instead of the sangria they were pushing and NEVER Received it. There was no way to ask for it again once the show quickly started because they crammed so many people in the room and were rushing around trying to get drinks to the tour bus load of people that came in at one time

Without a doubt, experiencing the show at Maria La Canastera was the highlight of my trip to Spain. Set in a cave high in the Sacromonte district, this show is off the beaten track but well worth the diversion. Maria is famous in Spain for maintaining the Zambra style of Flamenco during the period of the dictatorship when its customs were suppressed. It is a family show, and the skill of the dancers and musicians is amazing. This was an unforgettable experience.

If you’re in Andalusia, you have to see a flamenco show! This one was recommended by our hotel. Cost was €24 each for the show, which included a drink. The music and dancing was wonderful and everything was in a narrow cave in Sacromonte. It’s a steep uphill walk there. We took a taxi but the downhill walk is only about 10 minutes back.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at this flamenco show. I would advise you get there early to get the best seat, because you will want to view the dancers' feet. This was much better than the flamenco we viewed at our hotel. The "free" drink is a nice touch. Purchasing tickets on-line was easy.

My wife and I really enjoyed this show. There were 5 performers who created an incredible sound, singing clapping and stomping in syncopated rhythm and the dancers were very impressive. An intimate experience and the history of the place is all over the walls.

My husband and I were utterly blown away by the amazing performance we saw last night. The musicians, singers and dancers were absolutely amazing. It was clear that the dancers were some of the best in their genre. They were so passionate, it was palpable. The venue was also intimate and very authentic, tucked away in a cave. I would highly recommend this venue! Fantastic!

I was trying to decide whether to go to flamenco shows in both Granada and Seville and am so glad I opted to do so! The differences in style is very obvious and both are totally enjoyable. The Zambra Maria La Canastera show was very intimate, with dancers and musicians just feet away. The raw passion you feel from them draws you in. You also feel the energy and enjoyment they experience while performing. Highly recommend!

Unique and fabulous experience! Our Alhambra tour guide mentioned the fantastic flamenco and actually called for us and booked a reservation. What a fun experience and the dances were absolutely amazing. The musical accompaniment was equally as impressive. Very enjoyable evening highly recommended!

At the risk of receiving an incredibly rude response from the owner, I have to say that my experience mirrored that of Janet E from Ontario (Nov 2016 review). Despite making on line reservations weeks in advance, reconfirming our reservation and arriving 25 minutes early to a rather empty venue, we were directed to the last row of seats at the back of the cave. When I expressed my disappointment in the seats especially after making early reservations, the owner simply shrugged his shoulders. We then watched in dismay as later arrivals were seated in front of us, until four rows of people were in front of us and my view of the dancers’ feet work was completely blocked.
The closest seats on the sides of the cave were obviously reserved for a large tour group of Chinese tourists who arrived minutes before the show. (The show even included-a gimmicky bit involving a planted, stereotypical “Asian tourist” who appeared to arrive late and confused during the show, only to dance flamenco with the performers.) It was quickly obvious that the owner was seating those of us without tour groups according to his convenience, filling the harder to access seats in the back of the crowded venue first. I understand the owner’s preference for the tour groups- these are probably his bread and butter clients. It was frustrating, however, to watch others who were not with groups arrive late and take front row seats. We had walked to the venue since we were staying in the Albacin. Perhaps if we had come on the shuttle or dined in their restaurant we would have enjoyed better seats. Unfortunately, this all left a bad taste in our mouths.
While my musician husband was impressed with the difficult syncopated hand clapping of the performers, I found the dancing- what I could see of it- and singing- or rather caterwauling- to be pretty unprofessional and lacking passion. The dancers for the most part were unenthusiastic and seemed to literally walk through the performance. It was interesting, however, to see the interior of a cave dwelling and the show, which included a sangria drink was not all that expensive. The whole affair, though, left me pretty underwhelmed. Fortunately, I experienced an outstanding flamenco show in Seville that restored my faith in the art.
If you do visit this venue without a tour group, I would suggest that you arrive late, right before the show. I truly think it would increase your chances of getting a better seat! Or, better yet, ask to see where you will be seated before you fork over the money!

We were told that the flamenco in the caves of Sacromonte was a must-do in Granada... I’m not so sure. I guess I was expecting something a little more melodious and easier on the ears.
So this show is the authentic flamenco started by the gypsies in the caves of Sacromonte. The setting was quite exotic. The cave walls were decorated with copper pots and pans and old memorabilia. But I have to admit it was a little heavy to digest, and definitely took some getting used to. The singing could have been a little more enthusiastic and melodious. And the performers seemed tired and uninterested as though they were performing all evening. I think we caught the last show of the day. The show was about an hour long and included singing and dancing and a free drink.
We were easily able to get tickets from the front desk of our hotel, which included a pick and drop to and from the venue. It’s just as well because Sacromonte is not a district you want to be around on your own in the evening.
Overall I was not awed by the experience and at €28/- per head it was not that cheap either.

From what I know, there are convenient pick-up stations around the downtown and hotel areas. If you give them your hotel and address, they will provide you with a pick-up/drop-off point. You can then get the directions to it from your hotel.
