A traditional and large square with local cafeterias, bars and restaurants for tapas but overall "raciones and playground for kids. The atmosphere is local and it is surrounding by beautiful buildinghs and laberintic and 15-minute paths up to the Alhambra. On top of it San Cecilio Church, and further up La Antequeruela quarter boarding th Alhambra and Barranco del Abogado quater with caves and Granadian style villas called "carmen". Officially a city, healthy path.

There are at least 6 restaurants in this square. The one we went to was fairly ordinary with slow service and basic food.

When in Granada, we stay close to this Campo and use it as our primary source for dinner, eating at whatever place looks good at the time. The restaurants stagger schedules so there is always someplace open. Sit in the afternoon and have a drink and enjoy a free tapa as the afternoon slips away. Tapas done the way they should be done. The two of us ate for less than 30 Euros each night for the four nights we were in Granada and that included four glass of wine and multiple tapas. One night was only 22. Why bother with the expensive tourist places. Eat where the local do. A big improvement over 5 years ago when last we visited was the absence of feral cats. The cats were ubiquitous and extremely annoying, begging for food the entire time. We saw only one cat this time.

Really. Don't bother. What you get is a small square with playground and a row of restaurants. The only interesting thing is a view of the gorgeous Hotel Alhambra Palace sitting majestically on the hill.

The Campo del Principe has a large jasper and alabaster statue of Cristo de los Favores that is quite impressive. In the 17th century the plague hit Granada, but the people in the area were not affected much because they think that they prayed to this statue.

This leafy square, at the foot of hill leading up to the Alhambra, has a young and student-y buzz about it. There's one great pasta restaurant as well as a number of cheap-and-cheerful tapas bars.

Campo del Principe is the heart of the old jewish neighborhood in Granada called the Realejo district. When it comes to Tapas bars and restaurants this is the best area in Granada according to me. The streets are really vibrant and you witness a more authentic feeling here compared to the rest of the central parts of Granada. The Campo del Principe itself is a beautiful and lively square where you have the opportunity to frequent numerous bars and restaurants.

This is a nice place near La Alhambra where you will find several restaurants with outdoor terraces where to eat well at very affordable prices. all of them are very good without the racking of turists.
