The Ayuntamiento de Granada is an interesting building in the Plaza del Carmen. Our walking tour guide pointed out many interesting and historical features. It was beautifully illuminated at night with Christmas lights in the plaza.

We were at the Ayuntamiento de Granada, the Town Hall of the city, on a day when some event was taking place, so were unable to go inside. However even from the outside it looks like a really lovely building with beautiful architecture. It is in the nice, wide, and pleasant Plaza del Carmen.

Apart from being a very interesting building, the Ayuntamiento houses the excellently organised Tourism Office providing information given by multi-lingual staff.

Ayuntamiento de Granada, or town hall is situated in the pleasant Plazadel Carmen which is pedestrianized so you can enjoy a good view of this striking building. Built on the remains of a 16th century convent.

While walking around the city we happened upon this building with a soldier sitting on a horse; I found it to be a quite interesting building and I liked the design on the street/courtyard.

Taking centre-stage in the Plaza del Carmen, the elegant classical building has a bronze statue on top of its entrance and the city coat of arms embedded in the plaza itself. It also springs out of the building with new initiatives such as the green triumphal arch celebrating fairs of Granada that was in front of the building on our visit.

The Ayuntamiento de Granada is the Granada City Hall and one can see it if one walks along the Calle Reyes Catolicos. The building has a nice facade and there is a nice courtyard when one enters the building.

It is the main building in Plaza del Carmen. The name of the square is due to the fact that the old Carmen convent was once located here. After the demolition of the Church and part of the old convent, the square was opened and the neoclassical building was rebuilt, preserving one of the original cloisters inside.
