    Nice little park
Beautiful little park to see! Very beautiful view point at the top of the tower. It takes about 30 minutes to walk there from the beach, but it's a climb! An elevator will soon be available to access it! Too bad there was no sun, my photos would have been more beautiful!

    Beautiful park overlooking the sea
The park is very nicely landscaped. Artificial lake, fountains, sculptures, manicured green spaces and a lookout tower. Best to run up in the evening otherwise the climb can be a bit sweaty. Beautiful photo subjects and great views of the sea and Torremolinos from the tower.

    A Very Quiet Place
A very nice park with breathtaking views of torremolinos and the Costa Del Sol coast and some history. The park has a very nice pond and some old cannons to commemorate the previous battery that used to be here. What I didn’t know about this park is that it has a view tower with some breathtaking views across Torremolinos and the Costa Del Sol coast. The strange thing about this park is that it’s very quiet. During my visit I walked on the main road past a lift which takes you to the top of the park as its quite high up on the high points of Torremolinos, but sadly it was still under construction and closed off. The way to the park from the bottom of the main road is climbing up through multiple housing streets which can be quite a strenuous climb. However, there is the Costa Del Sol train line that has a station right next to it. Overall, a very nice park with some history and breathtaking views, however it can do with some more tourists and does deserve some appreciation.

    Lovely park with fantastic views.
The park is quite large and well laid out. the highlight for me was the brilliant viewing tower overlooking the whole of the area from Torremolinos all the way across Benalmadena and Arroyo de la Miel. As we were staying down in Carihuela it is a fairly hard uphill climb through the winding streets to Montemar Alto where the park is situated, we just walked into Torremolinos and used the train. Montemar is the first stop along the Fuengirola line and is only a five minute journey. The park is just across the line from Montemar Alto station over a narrow bridge. A tip here is to use a debit/credit card at the electronic ticket gates instead of waiting in the queue for available ticket machines. Just scan the card and go through but don't forget to scan off at your destination or you will be charged for the entire journey to the terminus at Fuengirola. The park has some amazing baroque statues and fountains, a great variety of trees and small lakes. There are several old artillery pieces near the viewing tower of interest and this would have been the obvious site of defending gun batteries in days gone by. Lots of available shade but no cafe. There is a toilet block near the entrance with a coffee machine outside which I was told by a local had the most fantastic coffee available but I wasn't tempted. Instead, cross back over the bridge and turn right at the pharmacy (unmissable) opposite the station and there is a really nice little Spanish bar/cafe (las Naranjas) selling a good variety of quality tapas. (I was tempted this time). Back on the train to Torremolinos or walk through the winding residential lanes back down to the coast. Be warned though, Spanish streets often wind around confusingly and can end up in dead ends so get the satnav on the phone.

Beautiful place!. To go alone, as a couple or as a family. There is a place for the boys (the floor is somewhat neglected). There are boats to row, they can be rented for 1 Euro per 30 minutes, up to 4 people can board. Very nice experience. Everything very neat, clean, a lot of trash cans throughout the park. There are clean and well-kept bathrooms, drink and snack machines.

We visited the Parque La Bateria during our stay in Torremolinos over Christmas and New Year. The weather was good on the day we visited so it was very pleasant. The are several weird fountains that are reasonably well maintained. The central part of the park has a large lake which has boats that you can rent during the main season, but not in January!
There are several canons scattered around the park, hence the name of Bateria.
The mirador, or viewing tower, allows excellent views of Torremolinos, Benalmádena and Fuengirola and is free to go up. There is a lift for people who have problems climbing stairs.
It was very nice walking around this quiet haven from the beach area, but who knows what it is like in high season?
Recommended.

Nice park/garden near the train stop, the park seems renovated, you can breathe a new air and you can notice a certain order/care of the spaces. The observation tower and the cannons are beautiful and are accessible but also some spaces which I believe are used for shows.. It's a shame about the little greenery/shade and the "blocking" of the attractions: boats for the lake and carousel not working. For the rest, if you start from the beach, a nice climb awaits you but it will be worth it also because Torremolinos doesn't have many attractions. Suitable for romantics and parents of young children. PS the playgrounds are beautiful!

We had seen this place on the internet.
Beautiful pictures illustrated the description of the place with also the possibility to rent boats to walk on the lake.
What a disappointment!
The lake was dry, no boat!
The green spaces are not well maintained, everything was dry and cratered.
A fountain was in use, the park was deserted.
After climbing more than 20 min on the heights of Torremolinos to get there, we were tired, thirsty and very disappointed!
No need to travel for nothing!

We visited the 2nd week of January 2020. This park is situated up a quite a steep hill from the beach promenade which if you do not have any mobility issues should be fine. We were disappointed that the boats on the lake were not open. Also all of the information on the cannons and viewing tower etc was only written in Spanish. There were no cafe's that we noticed to stop for a coffee or beer only depressing vending machines which we do not like to use as you do not know how long the products have been in there! The toilets onsite were spotless. If you are in the area it's worth a visit but as per the title it could be so much better!

It's a lovely park, it did take a bit of finding though. We'd walked from benalmadena along the seafront and then turned inland. The difficulty was that there is only an entrance from the top, that is the side away from the sea.
Anyway, its well laid out tending towards neat. There are remnants of the old battery and the guns that went with it. There is a look out tower you can climb but this looks a modern replica. There's a lake with rowing boats but these weren't on the go when we were there.
There's no cafe, only vending machines.

Was expecting great things after reading all the fantastic reviews on here but sadly left feeling disappointed. As highlighted, it is not easy to find, up a few hills to find the main and only entrance so we arrived quite hot and bothered. Within a hour, we had a left and that included a visit to the toilet, a walk up the tower and a rest near a fountain. Would not waste your time.

We decided to pop down to Torremolinos by train for a couple of hours, from Malaga, just to see what the crack was!
Quite the town!
However, this was a pleasant oasis that I'd looked up & decided to visit.
If walking out of town, bit awkward to get to the entrance - need to follow carefully on a map or have researched beforehand.
But it is well worth the visit.
Lovely views out onto the Mediterranean on a sunny day.
There is a tower that one can easily climb that offers augmented views.
The park itself is quite small, but with nice shaded areas that afford the opportunity to sit & read or relax.
The boating lake might be nice for a spin when open.
It is a lovely quiet area to relax in.

Took a walk here a few days ago, looking forward hiring a boat on the lake. What a disappointment to find the lake devoid of water. The gardens were immaculately kept and there were some lovely statues and fountains. The view from the watch tower was good and my hubby enjoyed looking at the canons. Would have spent a lot more time here, had the lake been full.

Found this park on one of our walks and what a fabulous discovery. A beautiful, clean, spacious and relaxing park, above Torremolinos/Carihuela. The 'tower' gives an outstanding 'Mirador' viewpoint over the towns and coastline from beyond Benalmadena across to Malaga and out towards Nerja. Stunning scenery and a real breath of fresh air. Super boating lake too if you wish to take to the water. A perfect place for a picnic on a warm day.
