Be sure to stop into this church near Plaza de las Naranjos. It is innocuous from the exterior but very beautiful and peaceful inside. The square outside reminded me of a quintessential old square in this Casco Antiguo de Marella.

For me one of the best Churchs to visit in Marbella. People inside also very friendly! A nice place if you go to Marbella.

Highly recommend visiting the church as the interior is absolutely stunning and a peaceful place to sit a while and thank God for the beauty of Marbella.

This is a lovely little church outside in a pleasant plaza. But inside it simply glows. Compared to many steadily deteriorating churches in Spain it is clear that there is a sensible maintenance programme here and the money to carry it out. Every surface looks fresh-painted and the religious artifacts all look in pristine condition. If you're in the old... More

Constructed between the XVI and the XVIII century, Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación is the most relevant piece of architecture inside the Old District of Marbella. The visit is a must if you're walking around the area. Don't miss the gorgeous interior and if by chance you're around during Easter holidays, you'll probably have the opportunity to presence some of... More

Ordinary looking white church from the outside but inside takes your breath away with a variety of bright religious artefacts . Worth a few minutes whilst strolling round the old town in Marbella

Any trip to Marbella needs to include the Plaza and old town, walking the small streets and having a wine and tapas makes for a perfect day out.

Amongst the hustle & bustle of Old Town Marbella lies the serenity of Iglesias Mayor. This beautiful old church has been magnificently maintained and displays the grandeur and gold fixtures of a time gone by. The life size statues fully clothed are worth seeing, albeit are somewhat fearsome and austere.

I attended a wedding here last week and it was truly a magical setting. The historic setting is worth visiting in its own right and the various altars are spectacular, the main altar in particular. Just one sad point. As one walks out the door at the rear of the church the Latin inscription overhead and to the right reads... More
