We have visited over 200 cathedrals and churches throughout Europe. This cathedral is small in a quiet plaza somewhat away from the touristy section of town. The outside the church is not impressive but the inside is nicely decorated. The walls and ceiling are white so the artwork shows off quite nicely. The decoration is peaceful and welcoming unlike some... More

Iglesia de Los Martires is one of the four churches erected in Malaga by the Catholic Monarchs on the reconquest in 1487. It is dedicated to the two patron saints of Malaga Ciriaco and Paula who were martyred in 303 AD by the Romans when they refused to renounce their Christian faith. They were stoned to death whilst tied to... More

Smaller than the big cathedral, and harder to find, this church, tucked away in a small plaza, is quiet and somber. Painted uniformly white and gold (unlike the mishmash of styles of the cathedral), it is a soothing place to stop and reflect.

As all churches this one has also beautiful architecture. Visiting is possible and free of charge. Always cool inside, handy with the Spanish weather :).

Having been unable to go into the cathedral because of a celebration event taking place, we wandered around and decided to try this church to get out of the heat and noise of Malaga. We were amazed by the beautiful interior. It is dark but somehow not oppressive. There is so much to look at that you could spend some... More

This church is an amazing place. Like all the churches in Europe it is painted and decorated beautifully. I could not stop looking up at the magnificent painting and wondering how long each took to do. We needed more time here than the tour allowed.

We just happen to see this Church when we were walking Around doing Nothing. The outside look rather simple, the donors were open and we went in. The church is absolutely beautiful - one of the most beautiful i ever have seen - and we have Been all over Europe including Rome and Paris. The roofs and all the statutes... More

The Iglesia de Los Martires is one of the most impressive churches in Malaga because it has many images of the Virgin Mary. Many of these images are dressed very beautifully and the people who worship in the church are very proud of how them take care of the images and the church.
