Surprisingly rich inside
Oct 2019
Well wort a visit as this is one of the most picturesque designed interior of the church. Nothing special from tho outside, but wooow when you step in! Rich baroque and other styles. Take a close look of statues, which are on outside display in the time of the processions.

Not what it looks in the outside
Oct 2019
Red bricks in the outside - with the picture of the two patron saints of the city, San Ciriaco and Santa Paula next to the entrance. But do step in to feel the atmosphere that makes a person humble, to understand the past and present, and to admire the wealth of the artwork and ornaments.

a gem right in the centre of town, behind the Thyssen Museum, with good restaurants, coffee shop, art gallery right on the Plaza de los Mártires. A must

Beautiful church
Jul 2019 • Friends
Iglesia De Los Martires is a beautiful church your sure to pass if you're wandering around the old town streets of Malaga.
The exterior is interesting but not as beautiful as some of the other churches to be found in Malaga, a red brick build,it looks cool ,the tiled motifs embedded into the walls are lovely, we luckily managed to find the church open and ventured in ,the interior is breathtaking, high arched ceiling, wonderful details and frescoes, the high alter is awesome, its just one really beautiful church, the church was empty on our visit so I took some photo's ,I normally never take photos of the interior of a church I visit ,I would hate to think I am encroaching on someone's prayers but as the church was empty I thought no harm done.
A beautiful church, if your in the area most definitely well worth checking out.
Easy to locate on a street called Plaza De Los Martires

Awesome

This church was very nice. It was not as crowded as the bigger church but it did have the same level of detail. The altar and the art work are amazing.

Unexpected Awesome Interior.
Apr 2019 • Couples
The Iglesia de Los Mártires dates from the time of the Catholic monarchs.
It is one of the oldest churches in Malaga, its construction began in 1505, the building was then dedicated to the martyrs of the city. Renovation work was carried out in the 18th century, which largely determined the current appearance of the church.
The interior is unquestionably beautiful with the images of the patron saints of Málaga, San Ciriaco and Santa Paula.
Located in the heart of the historic heart of Málaga, the church combines the Mudejar style with baroque elements.
The church is open in the morning until 1:30 am and in the evening between 7 and 8 PM.
Admission is free, however a small donation will be appreciated.

Impressive church
Feb 2019 • Solo
Beautifull church and amazing statues dressed in elaborate, ornate embroidered gowns. The various altars are extaordinary in the profusion of gold or silver candle holders, candelabras, church items, the altars dressed in silks, brocade, embroideries in silver and gold threads.

Extremely impressive in the inside, easily missed from the outside. Entrance is free. Just walk in and admire the treasures and the history behind the wealth.

When in Malaga, it is a must to visit.

There a re a lot of beautiful church in Spain and it's quite difficult to step out. However, the Iglesia de Los Martires has something that don't allow you to ignore it. Just look to the pictures. Definitively worth a visit.
