Malaga's city park runs alongside the Paseo del Parque. Apparently it was created at the end of the 19th century and makes use of land reclaimed from the sea. The park contains beautiful exotic tropical flowering trees and shrubs, and is a delight to stroll through. Truly it's an haven of peace running parallel with a bustling city centre. My wife and I enjoyed our stroll around.

This beautiful park is located between the city centre and the port. We walked there several times when we were tired. It’s so peaceful and quiet, only parrots “talk”. It has a lush vegetation, nice fountains and statues, exotic flowers and plants. We enjoyed sitting one of the bench and relaxing. It’s free and it’s closer than botanical garden

This is a beautiful park. When you walk through, you see all kinds of palm trees & other types of trees. We were there in February, so there were a few flowers, but not many. While walking in the park, you will hear tons of birds that look like green parakeets . They chirp almost continuously. There are a lot of lovely fountains throughout the park & benches. We were able to visti many times & we also enjoyed music from various buskers.

The Parque de Malaga is also known as the Parque de la Alameda, or simply as El Parque. It is situated directly behind the new port area, the Muelle Uno.
The rectangularly shaped park was created at the end of the 19th century on land reclaimed from the Mediterranean Sea.
A place of peace and quiet has carefully landscaped gardens with roses, orange and cypress trees as well as exotic tropical shrubs and palm trees.

This fabulous park lay between our hotel and the old town. As a result we walked up and down at least twice a day and absolutely loved it.
There is just so much to see. Art, parrots, people exercising, musicians – all life is here! It gives much appreciated shade from the Sun and there’s always something new to see.
It is beautifully maintained as well. Clean, safe and lots of benches to rest on should you need to.

When in Malaga we always stay out at the beach as we particularly like this area. That means we have to walk through this wonderful park every time we go to the city and we love it.
You see something new every time and there’s so much going on there. The parrots squawk noisily in the trees but there are serene parts where people just relax with a book.
The gardens are extremely well tended and it offers excellent Shae from the Sun when it is hot.
Don’t miss the opportunity to walk through it as it is a truly lovely place.

Great open green space in the city close to the beach. There are playgrounds and benches as well as a long stretch of pavement good for running laps around without waiting for traffic lights. It’s just across from the harbour.

This is one of the central features of Malaga. My wife points out that it can be seen on the way in on the plane. It is a beautiful place for a stroll any time. Loads of parakeets chirping away in the palm trees. Sure makes a nice break from back home in Donegal where it was blowing a gale & snowing at times!
Nicer in the cooler parts of the day.

This is a strip of plants trees and bushes hardly a park. There are a few fountains and it's pretty and shaded to walk through. Only took us 20 mins to see it all with a leisurely pace. It's easy to cross the road over to the port.

Are there a lot of bugs there? And are there a lot of people that go there?

I agree with the previous remarks, we just returned from Spain and we saw no bugs at all. However, being that the park is full of various types of vegetation, there are undoubtedly bugs there. It is a very nice park, heavily shaded, we saw a few people walking but it definitely was not crowded.

Is the park great for running?

Given the proximity to the Playa de Malagueta, you can run down the park, which is essentially a straight line for about a half mile or so, then cross the street and run to the Playa and run along there. It's a nice view, too.

Is this park far from Alcazaba and the castle of Gibralfaro? (is it a walk-able distance?) As i plan to visit Alcazaba and the castle of Gibralfaro when i visit spain in October and thought it would be a nice place to stroll by.

yes it is within easy walking distance and from there you can walk down to the marine or into the centre, plenty of bars as well along the way to stop and people watch or grab some tapas

Hi, just wondering how long it would be to Go around this place? Is it a full day or just a few hours? How much is it? Also, how far is it from Malaga airport? Thanks.

The park is not all that big and it is all public space, so no charge.
It is probably no more than 3 or 4 miles from the airport. To be honest, I wouldn't make a special trip to see it but if you are walking round Malaga, it is pleasant to stroll through it on the way to the marina.
How does one get there by bus?

The park is in front of the Marina at the centre of Malaga. Wherever you stay you should be able to get a bus to Malaga Centre and you just walk towards the Marina and Park you cannot miss it.

Mais que sont devenus tous les magnifiques et inestimables bancs en azulejos qui transcendaient le parc jusqu'à leur disparition il y a environ 4 ou 5 ans et remplacement par des bancs en béton et en bois ?
