Its prety and well laid out. Lots of seating and all in the shade of a tree at different points during the day. Its surrounded by cafe's and eating places. Perfect for a rest, an expresso and people watching. Loved it!

Finished off a tour here. Nice to sit a people watch. Bars not great for tapas I was informed, bit of a tourist trap.

very nice plaza, just next to Picasso birthplace. safe and nice for kids with many terraces around. very nice trees and green parrots everywhere.

so nice, lots of bars and cafes, nice people, lots of artists and musicians. Go to la piano, it's a vegan tapas, all home made and super cheap for what you get, seriously though....it's amazing :)

This is a nice spot especially in spring because covered in purple petals, there is the statue of Picasso and his house faces the square.

The Plaza is very nice with a sitting Picasso statue is located. The Malaga city government offers daily free city tours that start here at 11 am; just google into it. Next to the Plaza there 's La Merced Market where you can have lunch...More

Yes - try Restaurante Vegetariano Cañadú, Plaza de la Merced, 21 Málaga - (+34) 952 60 27 19. Very good reviews. It's on the opposite side of the Plaza to Picasso's house. Enjoy.
