Malaga is quintessentially a Mediterranean destination, with a relaxed pace of life, an excellent cafe culture, beautiful urban beaches and a variety of great holiday lifestyle experiences. It boasts the warmest winters of all European southern cities thanks to a unique microclimate, and it has an average of 300 days of sunshine each year. Muello Uno is a modern, vibrant orange tree lined promenade, comprised of shops, restaurants, gastro bars, a spectacular modern museum and it is, undoubtedly, one of the most successful redevelopment projects undertaken by the progressive local Municipal Authority. This chic waterfront area also boasts magnificent panoramic views of the city’s Alcazaba and many other historic monuments and it has a truly modern maritime feel to it. It is very easy to find, just walk down the marble paved Marqués de Larios shopping street from the old town towards the Mediterranean and keep an eye out for La Farola, the attractive lighthouse at the entrance to Malaga harbour. The striking Centre Pompidou, is easy to pick out, the Iberian branch of the famous Parisian museum is a huge playful cube of multi coloured glass with a world class collection of modern art, and it is worth remembering that entrance here is free on Sunday evenings.

Muelle Uno is a short walk from downtown Malaga along a beautiful seaside promenade. Muelle 1 hosts the local Pompidou Center for contemporary art. Next to it along the muello is a modern shopping and restaurant area that lure to stay for longer. A replica of a galleo offer a moment of excitement; get a feeling for a voyage to Central America for treasure hunting. The galleon is very photogenic so do not forget your camera. In the evenings you can experience a nice sunset on the muello or on a catamaran yacht. You will be in for a nice afternoon / evening treat!

Muelle Uno is located next to the Port of Malaga. It was opened in 2011. You can find a large number of shops and restaurants from the seafront promenade.
It is also a popular entertainment and leisure center in Malaga. It hosts arts and crafts markets, art exhibitions, concerts, and open-air films.
The 38-meter high lighthouse La Farola and La Capilla del Puerto de Malaga, a small 18th-century Baroque church are also located here.

@dchportevendres from Clogheen, Ireland does this much more elegantly than me, so I won't say too much. Read their very elegant report from earlier this month.
We enjoyed this part of the city. Well worth a stroll. We went once on a Sunday late afternoon & it was hiving! Suspect the locals walk on a Sunday when off work. Came back later in week & was much quieter. Stopped off at Heladeria Conico for very nice frozen youghurt.

When its hot in August you can find no better place in Malaga ( besides the beach 🏝 f course) at Muello Uno. You can sit comfortable at a cocktail bar, or drink a moijto at Hagendas or visit Kaleido. Sometimes you can see a great yacht or a historic one… just go! I love it( you can read a book in one of the beautiful gardens)

We ate here twice during our city break holiday which was also our honeymoon.
Sat in 22 degrees we enjoyed 2 pong lunches.
The service was perfect, the food excellent and for a quality restaurant by a marina, the bill was much less than expected.

As reglar visitors to Malaga, a walk along the Muelle to the Faro is great - well it was until yesterday until 2 eastern european girls tried to steal my wallet.
I felt a tug on my pocket to find one of the girls within 3 inches of me with her fingers in my pocket - Rude words were exchanged and they walked off empty handed - only to try the same with a couple in front !
A nasty pair - darkish hair, one badly kempt hair, the other presentable, each around 5ft 9 inches and one carrying a small rucksack on her back.
SO WHEN YOU ARE OUT ON THE MUELLE ENJOYING A DRINK AND A WALK KEEP YOUR HANDBAG IN A ZIPPED BAG, AND WALLET IN A PROTECTED POCKET OTHERWISE YOU WILL HAVE A RUINED HOLIDAY!

This new complex has excellent shopping and atleast a dozen new restaurants. The bar at the end of the puerto is selling mon-wed five bottellin (200ml) buckets of beer for 3 euros plus excellent tapas. The finish to Muelle Uno is excellent. We went to the beach nearby No 14 bus for a couple of hours and the puerto is just 200 yards away.Malaga needed this and is a major success before their European City of Culture honour in a few years time.

If you want a change from the tourist sites and bustle of the historic centre, this re-developed marina part of the harbour is a great place to spend some time. Activities, exhibitions (see the new Pompidou Centre and nearby gallery), pop-up shops and bars and a good selection of restaurants serving international food at reasonable prices. Walk down to the old lighthouse. If you carry on round the corner, you're at the beach! Hire a segway for a couple of hours, and wheel yourself about. Or head up towards the Bullring, and look out for the excellent pastry shop/cafe La Canasta. [TIP: to get to the old centre (Plaza de la Merced) from the Bullring, you can use the road tunnel that runs under the Alcazabar]. At night, the illuminated castles look fine from Muelle Uno

I frequently go to Muelle Uno to see its many good shops and restaurants. It is by the sea and is a beautiful place to walk around. There are some small stores that are quite unique and a good place to shop.
