Founded in 2000, we blend exciting travel & personal awareness journeys with a focus on environmental conservation and sensitivity towards local cultures. We act as custodians for nature and culture as much as beneficiaries of wonderful experiences. Where we can, we aim to give back as much as we receive!

As an Outdoors Education teacher in an International school, I have had the utmost pleasure to work with Adventure bug for over a decade. Their attention to detail, organisation and inclusive approach, paired with the genuine care of clients and above all, paramount importance of safety for all, Ad Bug have been consistently excellent.
They have provided lifelong experiences for quite literally, thousands of students ranging from 10-18 yrs. From adventure activities such as Ski trips, Environmental days, Cultural experiences, Problem solving and endurance weekends and Young Leadership Programmes.
Without any doubt I would highly recommend Adventure Bug to schools, families, community clubs, corporate ventures or simply to individuals wanting something more from life.

Our journeys with you and your students have been colossal and what you bring to the table is beyond the realms of most teachers worldwide. I have traveled with Matt on 5 trips between 2015 and 2019 in Europe and Africa. He managed to lead 16 or so friends for 8 days to unique places and provide us with adventures of a lifetime as well as many laughs. Since the pandemic I sadly have not been traveling, but I have been reviewing all my travelogues and photos from the last 15 years. The 5 trips with Matt and Adventurebug cannot even be ranked in any order of preference - they are all 5 stars. What stands out from all the trips is his compassion and kindness towards the local population and his desire to share their uniqueness. It is always a learning experience when you travel with Matt and Adventurebug and I wanted to share that with others.

Barbara thank you so much for your kind words. I enjoyed every moment of travel with you and the ladies. Those were special times indeed and you all gave so much back to the communities we visited rather than simply taking pictures and buying souvenirs - we really strive to understand the local cultures. This is so integral for Adventurebug´s ethos. Mil Gracias por todo!!!

We have been travelling with AdventureBug since the very beginning. All of our group have incredible memories of amazing trips. Hiking through the mountains of Southern Spain or North Africa has been a revelation. Matt and Jules deliver incredible attention to detail, a terrific knowledge of Flora and Fauna and a genuine willingness and love for their travelling companions.
I would strongly recommend AdventureBug if you are looking for something unique with the potential to open your eyes to an incredible world there is no one better

I love working with Matt at AdventureBug. He has led my travel groups for the last 8 years, doing two or three trips per year to Europe and Asia. His company is responsive, dependable and affordable. Matt and Julie have provided incredible hotels, buses and meals over the years and we have never had a bad experience. One of the qualities I like best is Matts people skills. Everywhere we go he makes friends, encourages blending with locals and seems to be respected by both his clients and his peers. My groups LOVES Matt.

How amazing your devoted followers have been on our trips! Like Kathy Didier, your USA travel groups leave such a positive impression where ever we go. We just arrived home from an trip to Italy with Matt Butler that started with a visit to beautiful Florence, a guided tour of Lucca, hiking in spectacular Cinque Terra, an adventurous tour of the Carrara Marble Quarry and ending at the leaning tower in Pisa (and lots more in between). Everyone in the group agreed that Matt and Adventure bug (Jules behind the scenes) exceeded their expectations for a fabulous trip. Adventurebug goes above and beyond to make sure everyone has the best experience possible. Matt is passionate about what he does and it shows. Thank you so much! We will definitely be back for more tours in the future.

We had Adventure Bug arrange a Birthday party and what a success that was! Children learning to climb (some for the first time ) archery, paddle boards, team games - all led by Matt & Jules providing support & encouragement - brilliant day! Later, we signed our son up to Adventure Bug week of summer camp. “Best camp ever”, “today was the best day” said everyday by my 9yr old! They are filled with a diverse range of activities from canyoning to cooking to art &music to surfing and then yoga/mindfulness...Something for everyone! Safe, secure and well run. Matt & Jules are professional but yet provide a very personal and caring touch to all that they do. Highly recommended!

Whether you are work in a school or part of a corporate team and looking for a unique experience, hands down AdventureBug is the right choice.
A group of 35 seniors (grade 12) plus 5 faculty embarked on a memorable trip to Morocco where we all experienced a mix of adventure (i.e. camel trekking) and community service where the students volunteered their time at a local school in the countryside.
The professionalism and skills exhibited by Matt Butler and his team were second to none. His attention to detail along with the constant concern of the safety and well being of all participants was well appreciated!

This is a really fun and enjoyable bike tour through country that many Americans may not quite have in their sights. Although it's titled "Coastal Andalusia,"the first half of the tour does go inland up into the mountains of a natural park. But the biking is beautiful, although can get a little challenging, especially going up into the mountains. Nothing too hard for the average biker, but a little training before the trip might help.
The second half of the tour mostly runs along the Atlantic coast of Spain, with beautiful beaches grand vistas, and great hotels. I think it's one of the most complete and varied bike tours in Europe one can get for novice bikers.
The hotels in the mountainous park are more rustic and have less amenities, as the areas are less touristy, so don't expect five star treatment. The beach area hotels on the second half of the trip are high class though.
The e-bikes we got (I would advise anyone but the most avid bikers to not try this trip with a regular bike) were new and functioned very well in general (not everyone had the same exact model). They generally had enough power to get us up the steeper and longer climbs.
Our guide Stephen, is British but has lived in Tarifa for most of his adult life. He has an excellent knowledge of the region and things to see and do. He took very good care of the group and was clearly trying his best to bring folks together as a group. He didn't bike with us, but hung with us in a van, and handled our luggage and check-ins. Stephen is a warm and genuine guy and was a pleasure to have with us on the trip.
We went at the perfect time, early May when temperatures were below 80° and we had nothing but sunshine, not one rainy day!
All in all, the trip was handled through Tripsite by Adventurebug, based out of Malaga. Their rep (Julie) was nice the brief instance we met and they do seem to be concerned that their clients get a good deal and are involved with them.
Consider this trip if you've never heard much about the very southern Andalusian Atlantic Coast, you'll be glad you did.

We have used Adventurebug to organise and run our school trips for several years now. Their organisation is great and they interact so well with our students.
They listen to our needs and put together a tailr made package that meets all of our needs.
The passion and vision of Matt and his team cannot be faulted.

Many thanks Darren to you and the teacher / admin team from Aloha College over the past 20 years. You have all been fantastic support for Adventurebug and your trip designs are second to none as they´ve been student oriented and always encompass emotional intelligences as well as the usual adventure / tourism / cultural aspects. Thanks for making these trips so well-rounded, the pupils have benefited immensely from them!

The trip to Croatia was amazing. Adventurebug put together the perfect itinerary that was an ideal mix of history, culture, outdoor activities, and cuisine. The local guides were personable and knowledgeable. Matt from Adventurebug is an extremely capable leader with a great sense of humor. We look forward to traveling with Adventurebug on future trips.
