About
Daily two 4 hour trips from 11:00 to 15:00 and 15:30 to 19:30. – 65,- Euros pp. min. 4 passengers uptil 11. You can also do a full day – 110,- Per Person Experience a fun filled day. With this charter there is the time – and the space – to experience the real sailing. The exact course depends on the wind, tide and weather, but of course I can try to fulfil your wishes, like following the coast for example towards Marbella or look for dolphins in the direction of Gibraltar. Aboard ´the lonely star´ you will find all the things needed to make your charter adventure relaxing and enjoyable. The ship has a large swimming platform and ladder, fresh water shower, comfortable seating, refrigeration, comfortable cabin with galley. Masks, snorkels, fins and lifejackets are provided. Refreshments include free cold soft drinks, water, wine and beer. We can drop anchor and provide a light lunch – some cheese, ham, tuna salad and bread. We have a few extra options for you: -We could take the dinghy and sail to our favorite beach restaurant – La Floria, you will have an excellent lunch/dinner here with all kinds of fresh grilled or fried fish and excellent meat. -When you bring the fish or meat yourself we can have a barbecue on board. Perfect for days with little wind! -If you are thinking about having a stag or hen party, you might consider having one at sea, if needed we can arrange for a second boat to join. -If you are sick of the jellyfish on the beaches, come with us, out on the open sea there aren´t any! If you prefer a windy day let us know and we will find the best day for you!

My Husband and I took an sunset boat trip with Robert from Sailing the Strait last Friday as part of our honeymoon trip to Estepona. It was a brilliant experience, and one of the highlights of our holiday. Booking was very straightforward through Whatsapp. Robert was friendly and accommodating. We managed to get the sails out, which was great. The sunset was beautiful. All of this was excellent value at €75 per person, and that included a bottle of Cava. When looking at other operators for boat trips, I couldn't find another private charter for 2 people at such good value. I'd recommend this to anyone, and would be very tempted by one of the longer trips in the future.

We went sailing with Robert last week and had a good time. We motored out of the harbor, raised the jib, and the furling device jammed on the mainsail. After numerous attempts to free the sail it finally got “unstuck “ and we spent the rest of the day sailing off the coast west of Estepona. Most of the trip was via GPS navigation using a remote device, not a lot of tacking and bringing in/letting out of the sails. All in all a relaxing afternoon with a plentiful selection of wines, salami, bread, and cheese.
On a side note, due to construction in Estepona the bus routes are drastically altered and you might find yourselves searching for the harbor.

We had a fantastic 4 hours sailing on our son’s 20th birthday. There was plenty of room for the 5 of us to move around, sunbathe, jump in the sea, lie on the mattress and the lunch was lovely. Robert is very knowledgeable and replied quickly to WhatsApp messages with information, etc. Luckily there was a slight wind which meant the sails were used making the trip more special. Would definitely recommend and do this trip again in the future.

We had a wonderful day's sailing from Estepona port and saw many dolphins.
The skipper was really friendly and gave everyone time to talk to him
i would recommend this as a great diversion from the normal holiday things.

13 July was an amazing day. This day of sailing and enjoying the sun was amazing. I have never experienced such a big wild life dolphins. Everything was perfectly organised. As lunch we ate fresh fish from the barbecue. One of the biggest reason why this day was so great is because everything was private. We had an amazing day only with my family. It was a great experience, I'lll never forget this day.

Hi Gijs,
thank you for your review. Hope to see you again, maybe a wildlife tour in the Strait of Gibraltar for 3 days might be something for you and your family. I´m pretty sure you will be even more amazed when you see Orca´s, Pilot whales and giant Tuna.
With regards,
Robert

We booked with Robert via what’s app and a phone call - responded very quickly to any questions we had and made great positive suggestions
We were a party of nine - 4 adults and 5 teens and we all found a space on the boat either on the cockpit or the fore deck on the mattress that doubles as a sea mattress.
We booked four hours - and it was a very relaxed four hours - the agenda was ours
Very quickly we launched into the tow along doughnut which was great fun - plenty fast enough behind the yacht and shortly after we stopped for swimming off the boat in pristine clear blue waters
Our hosts were both relaxed and attentive
After some fun in the water we set off cruising - not quite enough wind for the sails so made way under motor
We enjoyed a lovely array of bread, cheeses, cold meats and warm Spanish omelette - plenty of beverages were provided throughout our trip…
Some more fun in the doughnuts and swimming - then someone spotted dolphins and we were dolphin spotting in gentle pursuit - our hosts as eager and thrilled as we were to spot them…
Four hours making memories in the med with the beautiful back drop of Estepona and it’s mountains behind..
Would we recommend - most definitely

Just do it - fair winds x

The trip was a surprise birthday present by our best friends and we spent a wonderful time on the boat. We even saw dolphins and the kids enjoyed the tube. We all had a lot of fun on the boat and will never forget this day! Special thanks to Robert, the skipper!

A perfect afternoon sailing on skipper Robert's yacht. A genial and engaging host throughout, Robert used his contacts to locate some dolphins and we spent ages gently following these beautiful creatures in their pod of adults and calves as they danced below us sat at the front of the boat. Swimming off the back of the yacht was quite different from just swimming off a beach...quite surreal...and then just drifting lazily on the donut (tethered to the yacht!) was amazing. Bread cheese and jamon courtesy of the skip plus some beer and soft drinks to wash it down. Simply a memorable experience and a real holiday highlight. Thanks Robert!

We found this event thanks to TripAdvisor and read all comments. Everything is true ! This is really an amazing opportunity to spend 4 hours on the sea, sailing at the speed of the wind. We did with our children of 4 and 9 years old. Robert has really good advices and take the time to explain you what you want to know about sailing, the area, his experience.... He is always suggesting entertainment (be on a donut buoy linked with a rope to the boat, swimming, ...) so that you feel really taking the lead of your trip. Definitely something to warmly recommend to do if you are in the surroundings of Estepona.
Thank you Robert and keep having fun on the sea !

Hi Robert,
I trust you are well. I would like to enquire about your availability for my family to join you for a 4 hour sailing trip next week. There would be five of us, three adults and two children ( 10 & 13 years old). Ideally next Monday or Tuesday would be ideal ( 12/13th August). I believe the cost would be 325 euro, could you advise what is included in this price please Sir and, of course, if you are available on either of the days mentioned? I look forward to hearing from you. My number is+447899804523, if you would be able to text me more information. Many thanks .......Curt.

Hi my partner and I will be in Estepona from 23rd October for a week and would love to book up a half day sailing trip with yourselves but wondered how best to go about this as it is not too clear from your website. Please can you advise. It is my 50th on 25th October so that would be a great day to do something special.
