There is something magical about Estepona. Much calmer and less pretentious than Marbella and the old town is simply delightful. Street after street of beautiful views. Each street has it’s own coloured flower pots. Simply turn the corner into another street and enjoy the walk. Of course there are many shops and restaurants nearby but the old town just makes you feel relaxed. We park in the Paseo Maritimo Underground by the seafront.

Unlike most ‘ old towns ‘ that you may have seen, the historic centre of Estepona is stunning. There has obviously been some money put into restoring and pedestrianising the streets. And the flowers! Flowers everywhere. Each street has pots of flowers outside each house, often in a particular colour for that street. The restriction of traffic also means that the streets are easily walkable.
Don’t miss the wall murals here, and around the rest of town. And at 3 euros, the Orchidarium is a real bargain. If you’re in town for several months, try to go more than once, as you’ll see a change in what’s flowering.
There are several lovely squares in the old town. All in all, there seems to be a surprise round every corner.

Warm, welcoming and friendly, but also breathtakingly beautiful! A lot less busy than Marbella, so you have a lower chance of getting into a tourist trap. Especially beautiful in the evening, when you can see the locals getting together and going about their business. Absolutely loved the town, a true gem of the Costa del Sol ❤️

Beautiful town with meandering g walks through flower adorned narrow lanes. Quiet (apart from a few builders hard at work) Loads of tavernas to wet your whistle in the heat and lots of lovely restaurants to cater for anyone’s needs. A lovely place to visit.

The old old town centre is like taken from a typical Spanish village fairy tale - white walls, flowerpots of different colours, olive trees, palm trees and so on.

But then there are the ceramic-painted street signs with a row of lemons all around, and here through it a nice fountain. You can still see a Spanish woman passing by with her rag tied on her head and you can feel that life - the real life - lives here within its walls.

It's more authentic to me than other white villages around here.

Estepona has for sure invested a lot in the last years (still doing) to refurbish its historical part. Everything is nice, in order, very clean. The narrow streets of the center are perfect maintained and it is a pleasure to stroll.

We have enjoyed its streets from the inside while staying in the large and beautiful historic center. Ideal to disconnect. Multiple walks with countless especially beautiful corners to photograph... Pots, flowers, plants, streetlights, windows, doors, white, color... One of the most beautiful neighborhoods in which we have been full of local life... We have great memories of the neighborhood, its places and its people... From the third to the fourth line of the beach, white houses, low, old, very cozy... We will return

A fabulous experience!

Practically traffic free, and certainly no parked cars to hide the beauty of these charming streets, it's a wonderful place to stroll.

What makes it especially good is that it's not filled with shops and businesses looking for the tourist trade, but pretty homes for ordinary families. Although goodness knows where they park their cars!

You really get a good feel of the old times here, so peaceful and pretty.

It's also got more of these pretty streets, without the hassle of trinket and souvenir shops and parked cars, than in Marbella, Mojácar or Frigiliana, which makes it Top of the Towns in my view, you can walk and walk and never run out of lovely corners!

City without any charm especially when arriving from Marbella or Ronda. We came on a Monday and the historic center was completely deserted! The port is of no interest. The walk along a large beach is very bland. The town hall building is beautiful, that’s all! In short we left disappointed
