On the East entrance of Cadiz overlooking the Plaza de San Juan de Dios is the Ayuntamiento de Cádiz or City Hall not really open to none residents of Cadiz or employees I was able with the agreement of the attending staff to be able to added a little of an experience of the building’s interior to what I was able to capture on camera from the exterior. Beautiful and quite imposing I had to contend with just memory of the short visit as no photography was allowed as would appear to be the norm in government buildings I visited. While the exterior is a dramatic and artistically noteworthy a chance to see the inner area of the building confirms that is not just a façade and compliments it well.

Our guide was especially proud of this building and the architecture. It sits surrounded by a lovely paved "park" that invites locals and visitors alike to enjoy the sun of Cadiz.

My wife and I visited Cadiz this past November during a trip to Spain. The Town Hall and Plaza is one of the first features we came to in Cadiz as we were walking from the train station to our Airbnb at Plaza de la Candelaria. Several vendors had set up their tents and were selling jewelry and other items, which drew us back to the plaza after we had checked in. I was fortunate to find a bench as my wife shopped for jewelry. Even though there were a lot of tourists in the plaza, it was a beautiful fall day and I enjoyed my wait people watching.

This is a very nice building and set in a beautiful square that has restaurants, bars and market stalls. You can see the harbour and cruise ships (if they are in). Nice atmosphere.

Nice easy straightforward walk from our Cruise ship terminal and soon arrived. Beautiful weather enhanced the view of the buildings, and nearby cates provided excellent stops for refreshments.

Cadiz Town Hall is an impressive building that dominates the Plaza Juan de Dios.
The plaza hosts a variety of Cafes and quite often a small market offering a good selection of crafted goods

The columned City Hall is the outstanding feature of the Plaza de San Juan. On the pediment is a bas relief of Hercules the mythical founder of Cadiz. Also on the one of the circular plaques are fishes. This is an homage to the long ago Phoenicians who came in search of tuna.

Part of our walking tour , our guide explained to us what the historical meaning of this beautiful building was. He explained to us that Hercules is the mythological founder of Cádiz.it is centrally located in a wide square, with Palm trees, plenty of bars and restaurants where you can rest and watch the world go by. The guide never mentioned if you can visit the inside so I don’t think so.
