Caleta is a great place to unwind and watch the Sun go down. It is not far from anywhere in the old city and you will find bars and restaurants very close by. Just next to Caleta is a walkway it to the old fortified buildings that protected Cádiz from attack by sea, but that it works to well when the English were busy marauding ☹️

This beach epitomised Cadiz: small, clean, interesting, beautiful and full of friendly, cheerful, happy people. Gets crowded during the day, but what small beach doesn't. Between 08.00 and 20.00 dogs are allowed so we took ours here every night and some mornings. A clean sandy beach in the city with lots going on. When the tide goes out the rocks are exposed and you can walk right out to the castle.
Quite a few people come here to watch the magnificent sunset.

My wife and I visited La Caleta Beach during our trip to Cadiz this past November. With it being so late in the season, the beach was not very crowded. This made things more enjoyable for us as we took a leisurely stroll around the half moon beach area.

This beach is a jewel in Cadiz. It is a "caleta" or small bay, without the riff-raff of motor boats, jet skis, etc. The water is pretty calm so you can have a nice swimm across the bay. Also, there are free public bathrooms maintained by a public employee paid by the Citi of Cadiz. Very nice!
You can reach the beach by bus, on lines 2 and 7 and it is a walking distance from the historic district. The highlight is the sunsets. Can't miss them!

we visited Cadiz for one day off a cruise ship. we walked from the ship to Torre Tavira then to the beach. we walked along to the end and got changed under our poncho towels. we wanted to snorkel but the visibility was very poor. water was still a bit chilly. entry was very rocky, could have done with water shoes. thankfull for the free showers at both ends of the beach.

I've read a few reviews slating this beach but you really need to make your own mind up.

Yes it does get busy at the weekends where doesn't? The southern side is quieter. The Northern end is more crowded as that's where the cafes and restaurants are located.

If you want quiet romantic beach this isn't the place. If you want to mix with Spanish chilling then yes it's the place.

Is it clean? We've spent a lot of time in Greece on blue flag beaches that were far dirtier than this. Yes you will get some seaweed in the water but it's an Atlantic coast beach so to be expected. As for rubbish they've got their act together and provided plenty of bins.

Sunbeds are available at the back of the beach for €6 pp.

At the Southern end there are facilities to wash you're feet before heading away from the beach.

This beach is crowded for a reason; you simply must go there if you are in the vicinity. That's why. It is compelling. I live near the Atlantic coast of the US so I was incredibly pleased by how blue the water is in the Atlantic Ocean at this beach. It is brown/gray where I live. The beach is a nice mix of beautiful people and families and there are a few food places on the beach and tons across the street. All in all, this is one of my favorite beaches I've ever visited, despite the crowd.

in Cádiz, people has a particular style of life, and you can see it, if you visit this beach. It is the smallest beach in the city, but also the most beautiful one. It is between two castles and in the middle of the span there is an amazing white building. You will enjoy the beach at any time (morning, night, etc...), though you must visit the beach when the sun is falling down (it is a beautiful picture)

close to the centre of Cadiz, a very nice beach with white sand, where you can find all the services and relax yourself after a tourist day!
