Wednesday 18th May and we drove over this mighty structure as we drove in and out of the City of Cadiz.

The bridge is unsurprisingly the largest span bridge in Spain with a length of 540 metres.

The total length of the Bridge is 3,092 metres of which 1,440 spans the Bay. It transports vehicles across the bay with two lanes in each direction, another lane is reserved for public transport.

The two towers that support the cables stand at 185 meters (just under 606 feet) high and dominates the skyline around the area. The pattern of the cables are like a massive stringed instrument.

From the hill in the Battle Park in Chiclana
46 kilometres twenty-eight and a half miles away, less as the crow flies, it is possible to see the towers and the cables spread out.

It's construction commenced 2007 and was partially completed in 2015, completely in 2017.

It was an experience driving across the bridge as it slopes upwards towards the middle section it reaches a hight of 69 metres above the water below.

Pedestrians are not permitted on the Bridge, so photographs can only be taken while driving over by the passenger. There are fleeting glimpses, through the barrier as to what is going on around and below.

Drove over the bridge on way into the city on the CA-35.

Beautiful structure, limited views as you drive due to the height of the barriers. Should imagine the views are spectacular from the top deck of a bus.

Unfortunately no pedestrians are allowed on the bridge.

Great views of the bridge from park on the point.

Very Unique construction for a modern bridge. Worth a visit to see the architecture. Working at Navantia so it was a daily view but I'd advise you to have a look from the shore to really take in the size of the bridge and the amazing construction technique.

Striking approach by road into the heart of the old city of Cadiz. Beautiful construction with dramatic angles and design. Smooth carriageway and perfect arrival for this destination that’s been on our list for several years

My wife, littel son and I decided to visit Puente de la Constitucion de 1812 as already driving over the bridge was quite impressive. On our day of depature we stopped at a shopping close to the bridge (parking is not free of charge) and from there it was easy to walk to the bridge respectively coast.
As the weather was pretty good we were able to take a lot of nice pictures and we also had a pleasant stroll along the coast. From our point of view the Puente de la Constitucion de 1812 is definitely worth a visit when you're in Cádiz.

Great looking bridge and fantastic views, loved driving over it (sad, I know😂). It's the first thing you see of Cadiz as you approach on the coast road, looks good from a distance.

The bridge have 3 km long and its the best way to enter Cadiz city center. The bridge have a unique architecture and have a module that can be removed to allow major war ships to enter the S. Fernando Site. The bridge is open since September 2015.
